Question about Yamaha G5 Motorcycles

3 Answers

I have a 1993 Razz Yamaha Scooter. I obtain it from my grand daughter. WHat kind of oil does it take? Do I have to mix 2 cycle oil with it or what? What kind of gas can I use in it? I do not know what CC it is and how can I find out? With the question below on Model all I know is it has Razz on it so I not for sure what to put. But it will not let me get assistance with out putting something. So the answer I chose is probably wrong.

I have a 94 razz riva...i give it 30w 2 cycle. it has an oil reserve to put the oil in by itself, where it self mixes somewhere down the line. it runs on reg unleaded gas (that gets mixed automatically somewhere down the line). mine is a 50cc. it registers 30 mph on the odometer. i hope this helps

My 2001 Yamaha Razz has alot of smoke while it idles ( burning oil?). It also sometimes doesn't want to stay running - shuts off while idling, even when stopped at stoplight.

Hi, Ali it could rings, especially if you have a lot of miles on the scooter but it is a 2 stroke so smoking is no stranger your oil pump may need adjusting. The stalling may be a carburetor issue or your spark plug may be oil fouled and needs replacing I would recommend having a professional take a look at it also for this scenario you will need your service/owners manual if you can't find the first and best tool you ever bought for your Yamaha, despair not, for a mere zero $0 you can download another one. What kind of oil do I put in my 93 Yamaha razz

You can use any quality 2 cycle oil, synthetic is best as it leaves no deposits. Yes, 50 parts gas, one part oil. 2 1/2 oz per gallon, or use the chart that's on the bottle of most 2 cycle oils. There is no oil pump, or crankcase oil. 2 cycles burn the lubricating oil along with the gas. If there's internal damage, most likely from not enough oil mixed with the gas. When in doubt a little extra won't hurt BUT "if a little is good a lot isn't better". Too much oil fouls plugs and logs up things with carbon, and smokes like all heck

What kind of oil do I put in my 93 Yamaha razz

Regular engine oil is suggested, but since these bikes are not ridden in snow, use a thicker engine oil, 15W40 or even 20W50. As for the cylinders, check to see if any of your friends can polish your cylinder lining for you, and get a new head and rings...very cheap on the bay. Get some help, as these small engines don't take a lot of abuse.

Scooter 49cc

well this scooter has a 2 stroke engine (meaning it mixes oil and gas) so it would need any kind of 2-stroke oil, it is always recommended to NOT buy the cheapest oil and rather to spend a little more on an oil brand that works better.

I cannot find the spark plug on my 2000 Yamaha razz SH50M

You have to remove a cover (the lowest part of the plastic bodywork) on the right side of the scooter to access the spark plug. If you do a google search on "download yamaha SH50 service manual free" (include the quotations in the search) you can download a manual for the scooter.

1989 Yamaha Razz stalls when throttle applied

Hi, Dstelte and the usual suspects are:
1. Idle circuit and transfer ports clogged.
2. Air fuel mixture adjustment too lean.
3. Pilot jet clogged.
4. Faulty accelerator pump.
5. Float level too low.
6. Float bowl contaminated old fuel, water, dirt, rust, etc.
7. Float bowl vent or overflow tube clogged.
8. Fuel flow to carburetor restricted.
9. Intake manifold leak.
10. The gas cap is not venting properly or fuel tank venting system blocked.
11. Vacuum line from intake manifold to petcock broken, cracked, or not attached, carburetor vent line plugged.
12. Needle and seat stuck closed in the float bowl.
13. Multi carburetors not in sync.

We need to put oil in our scooter, but have no idea if it's a 2-cycle, or 4-cycle engine... We own a 2004 Yamaha Scooter Attack... We bought 2-cycle motor oil, but it gives us ratio on the back of it,...

CHECK THE OIL DESCRIPTION ON THE BOTTLE, IF IT READS SUITIBLE FOR PREMIX AND AUTOLUBE,THEN THE OIL WOULD BE FINE FOR EITHER USE, PREMIX SIMPLY MEANS YOU MIX IT WITH THE PETROL AND THE ENGINE IS LUBRICATED AS THE FUEL ENTERS THE CYLINDER IN AN ATOMISED STATE. AUTO LUBE YOU WOULD PUT THE OIL INTO A CONTAINER IE A STORAGE BOTTLE BUILT INTO THE MACHINE, LIKE THE LITTLE HOLE NEXT TO THE GAS TANK YOU DESRIBED AND THE OIL IS FED BY A PUMP AS THE ENGINE RUNS TO LUBRICATE THE ENGINE , I CAN ASSUME IF YOU HAVE A STORAGE BOTTLE NEXT TO YOUR GAS TANK WHICH HAS SOME DESCRIPTION OF ENGINE OIL THEN YOUR MACHINE IS A 2 CYCLE AND NOT A 4 CYCLE IMPORTANT DO NOT ALOW THIS OIL TO EMPTY AS YOU WILL HAVE TO BLEED THE SYSTEM TO REMOVE AIR AND ALLOW THE OIL THROUGH.
