I am changing my 2000 fatboy seat to another seat just like it. The problem is the screws that are spring loaded on the seat are missing. Is there a kit or some tool that you can use to press new ones on the seat and where can you the spring loaded screws

SOURCE: can the seat e lifted up is there a tool kit

Would a free factory service manual get me a "Very Helpful" rating?

Go to this site and you can download a free PDF service manual.
www.carlsalter.com/motorcycle-manuals.asp Most all of the manuals are in English but some are not. There is no way to be sure without doing the download. You can always delete it if in a foreign language.

SOURCE: How do you remove passenger and driver seat from

with a stock seat there is 3 connection points, 1 under each side flap of the riders seat, the last one is behind the seat. If the grab strap is what is giving you a problem, on the left side of the bike where the strap is attached can be slipped down with an egg shaped slip on the strap. Special note: The 2 bolts under the flaps is a real "P.I.T.A." to get back on, if it hasn't been off a few times, and the bolts will strip, so use caution.

2000 g m c yukon 4x4 5.3 litre engine. Transmission shifts from 1st to 2nd but not 2nd to 3rd. I change both shift solenoids. Still no shift 2 to 3 no codes either. Could it be spring missing frm sol

If you pull the pistons and springs out, Yes. One of the solenoids will pop out fro being spring loaded. But I have never see the piston pop out with it. 4l60e transmissions have have a common problem with the 2/3 shift. It is usually clutches that are worn out.

Well you have it posted under FLHR and you say it is a fatboy. Which is it. The touring fuses are under the left side cover and the Softail fuses are under the seat.

Idle adj screw vibrates out and the idle speed is high.

Hi Charles Gregory.

When you clean your carburetor and remove the jet screws, you will first need to lightly seat the jet screws.
But before you lightly seat the jet screws count the number of turns it takes to seat the jet screws from their original position.
Be sure to mark the turns down on a piece of paper.
That way when you put the jets back in, you know to lightly seat them first and then turn them back out to their original position before you started.
Make sure your spring that goes on the idle screw is in place.
You can also use some "locktite" thread locking compound on the threads of the needle if the spring is missing.
Normally you will adjust your idle jet to 1/2-3/4 turn open from the bottom seated position.
Then you will re-adjust the low speed of the engine when the engine is warm by turning the idle screw in or out till the engine runs smoothly at idle speed, around 1200 RPM.
The high speed jet is adjusted to 1 1/2- 1 3/4 open from the bottom seated position, after the engine is warm.
Then re-adjusted by turning the High Speed jet adjustment screw in or out till the motor runs smoothly at high speed.
Alway use the "lightly seated" method if you have not changed the screw settings.

How do i remove the seat on a fatboy 2003 Anniversary Edition

If it's the stock seat, there is a screw at the back of the seat that screws into a fitting on the rear fender. There are also an Allen bolt on each side at the rear of the driver seat that screw into the frame. Undo these three, pull the seat up and back and off it comes.

Driver side seat back is loose

Sounds like your latch is broken. You can replace the latch, it is spring loaded .Once you remove the trim around the latch and pull the seat cover up you can gain access to the bolts. You will need a torx bit ,I believe a t40 not sure. 13mm and 15mm socket.
