Question about 2000 Triumph Sprint ST
The diagnostics does weird stuff when the battery charge is running down. Fully charge your battery and see if it disappears.
The reset procedure is extremely simple: start bike, preferably from cold and DO NOT touch the throttle. Allow the bike to idle until the cooling fan cuts in. Once the fan is cut in wait a moment then switch off and wait for the engine to cool down. Do this 3 times .That is all, the ECM has been reseted.
If the light is still on then you have indeed a failed part - you will have to have the codes read to find out what is wrong.

Hi, there is no other way to reset the engine light than to ride the bike.
Don't worry about the light. If there is nothing wrong, the light will go off automatically after three start-run-stop sequences (the light will go out after 3 "heat cycles".).
You cannot fool the Engine Management System, you must actually ride the bike.
If after the 3 start-run-stop sequence (3"heat cycles") the light still stays on, then you have to carry out some check on it again....
