SOURCE: i have an 86 honda

There are two slots in the valve cover right by the cam shaft sprocket that have to be honda bonded or black rtv. look closely at the valve cover right above the gasket underneath the timing belt cover. Hope that helps.

1985 honda goldwing 1200 oil seems to be leaking from timing belt cover thinking maybe crank shaft gasget?

Most likely it is a valve cover gasket. There is a cam seal underneath the cam belt timing gear that is easy to replace (I have replaced two of those when the same leak appeared. The seal is part #28. Worst case scenario the crankshaft seal has begun to leak. It is easily replaced once you have taken off the covers, belts, and center belt sprockets. The seal is part #13

Where is the dipstick? I see where you put the oil in on the left side, but no dipstick. I feel stupid I have to ask wher it is. \r\nthanks Al

First , put your motorcycle on the center stand. Now, look at the right side of the engine. Most older Goldwing's have a window by the right toe. In your case the dipstick is located about the same spot just behind the right head. It is part number 13 on this diagram.

How to change cooling liquid? I do not know how to

If you look on the front of the motor you will see the oil filter cover on the right side and the water pump cover on the left side. Below the cover attached to the water hose (held on by two bolts) is a bolt with a copper washer under it. That is the antifreeze drain bolt for the motorcycle.

The gasket where the pipe bolts on does not hold oil in, if it leaks you would have an exhaust leak. Most likely it has either a valve cover gasket, or a cylinder head gasket leaking. The valve cover gasket is an easy fix, the head gasket is a difficult diy job and an expensive shop job, but if you are handy with your tools you can do it. There is no cam over the head as these are push rod engines, so no timing chain to deal with. Get your self a shop manual and go for it.
