SOURCE: valve clearances are out

The valve clearances are the same as the GL 500,as I recall they are in .002" - .004", ex .003" - .006". The pilot air technically needs to be adjusted with the motor running. You want to start at 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 turns out.

Were the jets the same size? Just because the numbers were the same does not assure you that someone has not used a jet drill to enlarge them. Pull the low speed jets and compare them with the old ones, using a wire gauge or set of number drills.

SOURCE: Hi! I have an old Honda

Thank you for the inquiry.
The ratio of 2-stroke oil to gas is - 32:1

Some interesting pictures that may help you identify the year.

Tip: You will also find that the ratio rite oil mixing cup is a useful addition to your garage. They can be purchased at most bike shops or bike accessory stores for around $5.00.

Carbburtor adjustment to lean or to rich

Hey Errol, Proper carburetor jetting can ONLY be obtained by reading the spark plug..This is NOT something an amateur can do..You need to know how to tell if the timing is too advanced, if the timing is to retarded, (two stroke - how to tell if your oil/fuel ratio, is correct -how to tell if it is too lean, how to tell if its too rich)... how to tell if the fuel/air ratio is too lean or too rich...when the spark plug is black, you have to be able to tell the difference between "oil black" and "rich fuel black"...
...now, if you can do this.. tell me what motorcycle this is about.. why do you need to know about jetting.. PLEASE give me more details... reply on here...

I just bought this lawn mower about 7 months ago and now it does not want to start I add yes to the carburetor then it starts and it dies within 2 to 3 minutes

Hi Ricardo:
Sounds like a PITA when you want to get the lawn cut.
These machines usually love to keep working so probably not a big deal. Since it starts you know (hope) it's just a fuel flow problem.
I'd start by doing basic maintenance:
- Clean the air filter
- Clean or replace the fuel filter
- Change the oil
- Check the spark plug
- Drain the carb
- Fresh gas
Give it a try. If it still gives problems let me know the details by comment on this post.
Cheers

What parts do I change to tune up my 2008 dodge caliber

For a standard tune-up, the parts needed include an air filter, oil filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, and spark plug wires. You should also have oil, transmission fluid, coolant, windshield washer fluid, and brake fluid available. A tune-up consists of topping off or replacing fluids, changing spark plugs and spark plug wires, changing the fuel, oil, and air filters, and checking the pressures of the tires. More detailed tune-ups run a diagnostic test on the vehicle to check for any codes that indicate additional issues.

Drain the system of all oil, replace oil filter, and fuel filter for sure. Check air fliter, and spark plugs. Basic tune up and oil change. Does the oil look funny? Like texture wise, it might have water in it which is a really bad sign. please give more info if possible so i can give a better diagnoses.

What do i need to put a tune-up on my car

depends on how much you want to spend.

tools you need.....socket set with a 5/8 sparkplug socket, plug gapper tool, and the proper gap
parts you need, sparkplugs, plug wires, fuel filter, air filter. replace each plug one at a time, change plug wire at same time. there should be no other adjustments needed as its all controlled by computer.

Need a downloadable copy of owners manuals.

my 17 in dual tine tiller fouls up the air filter with oil and the spark plug. The prefilter, I can't tell if I put it in backwards or not. Also, the manual says to "fill the oil reservoir almost to overflowing." I don't believe that was right, because I am not sure if that is the reason oil is entering the filter box or not, but I am not going to do that again. I don't know how much oil to add, but it certainly won't be to overflow level. I am going to reverse the prefilter(screen/foam) in the filter chamber and pray that the oil does not foul up the spark plug and filter chamber again. Does anyone agree or disagree?

Looses power at 3500 rpm

Blocked gas filter is most noticeable at HIGH SPEEDS.

If it looses power at only 3500 or so rpm's, most likely culprit is the throttle position sensor also known as TPS.

Does ur engine burn oil? Could be low compression, but unlikely.
Could alsobe, but unlikely, the coil giving a weak spark.

Whats ur mileage and is it an automatic tranny or manual? Give more details please as to what ur car does, IE sputters, jerks, weird noises, engine revs high but car doesn't go faster, etc.
