The first thing to do if you suspect a mechanical problem is to take the battery to an automotive parts store. Ask them to run a load test on the battery to see if it's any good. Just because you keep the battery on a charger doesn't mean it'll last forever, just a bit longer. If the battery is good or you purchase a new one, pay particular attention to the connections on the battery. Make sure that they are all clean and tight.

If that doesn't do it, it could be something to do with the ECM on the bike. That, I'm afraid, I can't help you with that.

Good Luck

could be all manner of things, but i would start with the regulator/rectifier - get that replaced & work on from there, you could have seriously damaged the internal workings due to consistent jump starting, that should have been the time to ask what was going on , now you have just confounded the issue

I have a 2002 yzfr1, it was running great till recently, at first it seems that the battery's dying but it will still starts then this morning i warmed up the bike then when i was ready to ride out it died...

Look for corrosion around the engine starter/ignition fuse, and also on the battery terminals and ground connections. The starter draws a lot more current then horn or gauges, so a weak ground connection will not affect them as much. If you find any corrosion, clean it off with a wire brush, then fine sandpaper, the use dielectric grease on the connections to stop new rust forming.

Car alarm goes off for no reason

I had this same problem just today.Hhowever, I had the remote in my hand and it would not stop the honking!. Since I could get into the car, I released the hood, opened the master fuse box on the left side, and pulled the fuse labeled "Horn Relay".(On the upper left, there are three large, black, square fuses, it is the third and is labeled in the lid). I waited ten seconds and put the fuse back in, no more alarm, no more infernal honking.

Hi ..... Do you have access to a multi meter ? Place across the battery, when bike is running and you should display 13.2 - 14volts. Sounds like a dying battery (dead cell ?), lack of charging or elctrics shorting to earth .............. go for the first two first.
Good Luck.
