No, the overflow tube should dump the fuel out the bottom of the bike.

Possible solutions (?): 1: Don't over fill the tank. 2: Check for corrosion in the tank overflow tube.

I inherited a 2004 BN125 that now leaks gas when started from tube that is located next to battery overflow tube

If overflow tube is leaking its due to too much fuel in petrol tank or could be a loose fuel pipe make sure its an overflow pipe not a fuel pipe just leaking

There is a tube going out of the bottom of the gas tank that doesnt connect to anything-goes in rubber tubing and then another piece is there but they dont connect -what is this

You are probably discribing an overflow tube which takes any overfilled petrol away and puts it on the ground and saves the engine from getting coverd in fuel .Thus proventing any possible fire risk .

Zxr 400 not running properly after being de-restricted

Did you reconnect the vaccum hose on the right hand side of the airbox? As this needs to be reconnected.
Also on some models the two holes on top of the airbox that give you acccess to the 10mm bolts need to be taped over.
The muffled noise you refer to usually happens sometime after 7-9k rpm if the the above 2 suggestions are not actioned

My engine oil light is on, and my bike wont stop reving

hmmm tricky.... knackered fuel tap sounds favourite, petrol vapour coming back round the system via breather back in to airbox making the revs go up, and probably oil is like water being mixed with petrol that's been leaking through. take of oil filler cap and smell oil, if it stinks of petrol, drain oil, if like water and full of petrol, change fuel tap, oil filter, and refill with new oil. carb float valves should stop petrol seeping through in theory but it'll always get past. just thought, if it is all that then airfilter will be full of petrol vapour as well, get a new one if paper, wash out if foam.

Fuel leak underneath bike

Most likely comes from the carburetor's overflow tube.Start looking in there to rule out the possibility of overflowing. If it is so you need carbs cleaning and adjusting.
