I replaced the starter on my Mule 550. It turns over, but there is no spark, and all it does is grind away. It has a new battery, new sparkplug, and was turning over just fine before the starter was replaced. Is there a wiring diagram available? Can you suggest a solution? Thanks! @

i do believe that its easier to replace the silynoid with the starter out of the machine that is if it isattached to the start other wise no if its like most kawasaki four wheelers you need to disconect the abttery and then trace the main power to the silynoid and disconect it there also and then remove and install new silynoid

Using a lighter viscosity engine oil can make all the difference. Try something on the order of a 5W-30 for ambient temperatures of 60F or below. Of course, it could also be that your starter solenoid is in the early stages of failure. You can easily check it by using a large screwdriver to bridge the two large cable connections on the top of the solenoid. If the starter spins when you do this, then the solenoid is bad.

sounds very much as though your starter motor has seized, you need to remove it and test it .
SOURCE: HOW DO I REMOVE FRONT HUB ON MULE 2005
first off secure the buggies tyers with chocks either a brick or some wood blocks then proceed to jack up the tyre and axel you would like to remove - remove the tyre proceed to remove the hub once you have established where the bolts _ cotter pin etc are located
