Question about 2009 Moto Guzzi Stelvio 1200

2 Answers

Hi guys I have a Stelvio 2009 with only 3500 miles. Recently it developed a problem of not starting and showing a SERVIVE NEEDED light on the screen along with the red warning triangle on the upper left side. The problem comes and goes, it appears, then I take it o a shop and a few hours later it starts right up with no warning lights or problems. When it does not start the lights do not turn on with the ignition, only the parking lights turn on. I have accidentally overfilled the tank a couple of times and I do not know if this could be the cause with vapor lock damage. The problem however has not appeared when I have accidentally overfilled tank. Any clues?

Hi, Marcel_pardo sounds like you have a faulty connection in the ignition circuit so before testing any electrical component in the Ignition Circuit it is "IMPERATIVE" that you have a fully charged battery of 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test because your battery may have 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amps causing the battery to be faulty and must be replaced, especially "AGM" batteries.
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter.
4. Bank angle sensor needs a reset or is faulty.
5. FOB battery low or dead.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Faulty kickstand or clutch pull in switch/sensor.
9. Security alarm needs a reset.
10. Starter relay, solenoid or starter circuit wiring faulty.
11. Starter armature or field coils have failed.
12. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty.
13. The electric starter is working but starter clutch has failed.
14. Check for engine trouble codes.

98 f-150 runs rough after it warms up. 170,000 miles. Check engine light been on for years. I haven't had it reset and read recently.

Why would you tell anyone that?

Check for codes

You know the check light is on & is where you start

There is no resetting a check light
All your doing is clearing all data needed to diagnose
any issues

How often should the transmission be dropped? The dealer says the c servive is every 35000 miles and my garage says every 100000 so i dont want to do it unless it needs it.

you dont have to "drop" the transmission, just change the fluid and filter every 36000 miles. Whatever is costs, it costs. Are you going to listen to some guy in a garage, or the manufacturer of the car? Is the guy in the garage going to help you pay the bill when there are transmission problems? why take a chance?
