You will need to supprt the bike so that the front wheel is off the ground.
Remove the calipers(2 X 6mm allen keys each) Remove the speedo cable. Undo the allen keys at the bottom of each shock. Undo the 14mm allen key for the axle and pull it out at which point you can remove the wheel. When refitting the wheel torque the axle nut to 80ft/lb. Do this by cutting a piece off the(long end) of the allen key and using this piece with a 14mm socket and torque wrench.(Or just buy a 14mm allen key socket)

To do this safely and securely you will need to obtain a front paddock stand which supports your front wheel, you will then need a "24mm hex drive socket" to loosen the wheel, pull the spindle out and wheel shoul slide out easily.

Zxr 750 j1 replace front wheel

Not much to say other than...... after my nightmare I made the decision to always throw bearings on if wheel coming off! MAy as well. Other than that, simple 3 bricks each side of forks, patience knocking spindle out and grease when knocking it back in. If struggling, consider how it handles on cornering too? Is your spindle running concentric - not bent? That why its tough to get out? Not sure if you're asking for details how to do the job or whether struggling to get it out? Not an expert just got zx7r.

I have been offered a zxr 750 1992 the one with the two pipes that go over the tank which model is this thanks paul

I had a G reg one of those .That was an H1 model. that would be 1989/1990 . There was an H2 model the next year followed J1 & J2 models then K1 etc. I reckon that makes yours a J2 .The paintwork tends to bear that out too. It took Kawasaki all those years to sort the rear suspension out !! Hope this helps. Barry

Need replacement front wheel for zxr 400L 1991

If the width of the hub and the axle size is the same, and if the hub will index into the fork stem retainer, you can use any wheel you want. Brand is not sacred. The wheels from many Hondas, Yamahas, Kawasakis and Suzukis are interchangeable. The speedo connections and brake fittings often don't match up so a slight bit of rigging is sometimes needed.

Google " motorcycle salvage " and you can probably get exactly the wheel you need.

Please rate this solution as a " FixYa ". Thanks!
