The Fuel Pumps on all the RS-Ventures are a WELL KNOWN problem for Yamaha.
Yamaha has replaced hundreds of them under warranty...

Your 05 bike however is out of warranty unless you purchased an extended warranty, so this means you would have to purchase a new one.

You can lightly TAP on your fuel pump and it may begin working for a short time, but it will quit again.

Fuel pump is located on the left (drivers side) side cover, which is held on with one #10 allen head screw. Remove ONLY the aft end screw.. The fwd one is for cosmetics only and can this one also be used as an emergency replacement screw for your shifter if the allen head screw falls out of your shifter (which is another know problem).
Visit www.ventureriders.org for more info on your RSV...

Truck will start and then stops just started acting up

Found on a '92 Toyota pickup w/V6, a bad/intermittent fuel pump relay.
Had fuel rail pressure so fooled us initially, found by listening to pump run then quit, cycle key and pump would run again then quit, sometimes when trying to start, motor would start and run for a few seconds then quit, or not start at all, this created by intermittent relay operation. Need two people, one at passenger side by tank and other to work ignition switch.
Relay located behind right, passenger kick panel, dealer item I believe about $28.00.
Just another possibility.

1992 Yamaha Venture Royale cuts out after 10 minutes running

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Severely discharged or a damaged battery should have 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage the battery is faulty and must be replaced, AGM batteries fail in this scenario more so than lead-acid batteries.
2. Failed alternator/generator and or voltage regulator.
3. Loose or corroded battery terminals and or cables especially the "NEGATIVE" cable, look for loose, corroded, or broken connectors inside the cable harness at "BOTH" ends.
4. Failed main circuit breaker or ignition switch, check for loose connections and continuity.
5. Failed system and or ignition relay, check for continuity.
6. Failed ignition coil, stator, magneto, ignition/electronic module.
7. Failed CKP, CPS, CMP, MAP, TPS, or BAS sensor, corroded, loose or broken wire connector pins/sockets.
8. Throttle cables and or idle speed improperly adjusted hot idle speed should be 950 RPM to 1000 RPM.
9. Faulty neutral, side stand or clutch lever safety switch.
10. Air/fuel mixture screw improperly adjusted.
11. Accelerator pump damaged or not working.
12. Water or dirt in the fuel system, carburetor or filter.
13. Restricted, blocked or kinked fuel line.
14. Fuel tank empty.
15. The gas cap is not venting properly or fuel tank venting system blocked.
16. A failed fuel pump, pressure regulator and or fuel injectors.
17. Vacuum line from intake manifold to petcock broken, cracked, or not attached, carburetor vent line plugged.
18. Needle and seat stuck closed in the float bowl.
19. Lean angle switch is faulty or needs adjustment.

2005 dodge durango fuel pump problems

The shop surely should have kept it longer & they need
to road test it for some time & have a scan tool in record
mode if it does quit

They have to find out whay is dropping out

Hard to believe they have not seen those problems on
at least a couple of vehicles, even if they were different
makes.

I hate to see you go to a dealer, only to have the same results
only to spend more for the same billable hours

I could not guess, you need to have a scan tool and sometimes a
meter as well as an oscilloscope on the engine all at once

Only the very best of the best techs can find those issues

Now you & I don't know where they work
