No, but the Royal Purple Max Cycle 20W50 will if they offer that. All Sportsters and Big Twin Harley's use 20W50 oil.

Good Luck

You're welcome. Around here, Amsoil is a preferred brand. You can also use Mobil V-Twin and RevTech oil. Harley used to recommend that any oil rated suitable for use in diesel engines of 20W50 viscosity was alright. Now, there are a few that I've heard caused the clutch to slip. I don't know why any should cause this however. Maybe their clutches needed adjusting and they thought it was the oil.

I use Pennzoil 20/50 have 90k and bike still runs stong but I do change it every 3k put a slick50 in every 25k If Harley wanted you to run Synthetic it would come from the factory like that......Just my opinion.

How to drain engine crankcase oil 2004 1200 sportster

Run the bike to get it to normal operating temperature. Put an thin oil pan on the ground under the center of the engine. Look for the little rubber hose coming from the bottom of the bike with a plastic plug in it and held in the hose with a clamp. Loosen the clamp and save to reuse if it is the screw type. Then pull the plug out and open up the oil fill cap on right side by the seat.

What Kind of oil do I use for my 2008 1200 custom sportster

Use a 20W50 weight synthetic or petroleum based oil that is rated for use in diesel engines. You can look on the container to find the API rating. It will have an "S" rating like "SH" or "SJ" and also a "C" rating like "CG" or "CF". The "C" rating is for use in diesel engines and has the high pressure additives in the oil that Harley recommends. As for the brand, there are many different brands on the market. Amsoil, Royal Purple, Redline, and Mobil V-Twin are a few. Any one of these oil or H-D brand oil are very good lubricants. The key to long engine life is clean oil. Make sure your change your oil at least on the recommended service intervals. And don't forget the primary and transmission oil changes.

Good Luck

Want to service my 1200 sporster what kind of oil do l use and how much

Your Sportster uses three quarts of oil with an oil change. Do not overfill. As to what brand of oil, of course H-D makes the best for your bike. But, if you like Mobil, try Mobil V-Twin. Amsoil, Royal Purple, and RevTech makes oil suitable for your bike. The viscosity is normally 20W50. If you wish to use something else, check the oil manufacturer's website for compatibility and suitablility of use in your Sportster.
