Question about 2000 Harley Davidson FLHTCUI Electra Glide Ultra Classic
Did you lubricate the cable prior to putting on? The cables come from the factory with a bit of lubrication on them but I've seen this too many times. After a few weeks, the cable goes bad and breaks or you erronous reading. I'm not sure but what I think happens is the cable "winds up" and then breaks free. This gives the erronous reads. Take the cable back off, pull it out of the housing and lubricate it with some grease. Just put the grease in your hand and pull the cable through it. Inspect it for damage.
