The cooling fans won't turn on..

Did you try your radiator fan relay ? if thats not it i would try the coolant temp switch for the engine control computer . lastly if those dont solve the problem you have ecu issues or the cooling fan module.

I have have a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire, and I have been having issues with my cooling fan. I have checked the fuses and relays and they are all fine. When I turn the car on the fan spins but it goes off...

have you tried checking the cooling fan switch? it is most likely that, I'm not sure where you would find it on that model, but it should be on the cooling system some place on or around the radiator. those go bad and tell the motor that it is only -30 Degrees.... so the fan will not go on, when you start the car the ECU checks everything out and goes on its way. if that sensor is bad and tells the ECU that the coolant is only 30 degrees then it will not trip the fan no matter how hot it actually is.I'd like to show you an image but i can not find one on Google...

your r1 has it own on board diagnostic check system where you can test if fans any other components are working ,plus it will log any faults in the system. if bike has had major service ,wires for fans, coils can rub through on fan blades if not put back correctly cut wires

96 mit. eclipse 2.0 420a w/auto. Stalls at idle and low throttle. When stalls the ac recyles like when first turned on. Acts like power dies to entire engine for a second. replaced tps, egr and solenoid,...

I have a 95 Talon with the same motor but manual. My car was doing the same thing and I narrowed it down to the ECU cutting power to the ASD. So basically it was being told to do this. The only things that I know that cause this is the CAS, CPS. Get a multimeter and test the middle prong of the coil connector with key to ON. Should be 12v. When it stalls does it not start up for a few minutes? When it wont immediately restart check the coil power again and if 0 with key to ON then your ECU is cutting off or ASD is going bad. Either ADS or the problem was your crankshaft position sensor is bad most likely. Will appear as though ECu is going out.
