Jan 23, 2007 - I have a 2002 Hyundai Accent. For the last month or so (3 fill-ups, I believe) I've had huge problems filling up my gas tank. I never had a ... Gas tank won't fill up. What can cause this?

Un hook the gas line,.drain all gas out.Get a rag,stuff it in gas tank.Get a 1/2 inch dowl.About 7 inches long.Stir the rag inside gas tank.Take rag out,put new rag in tank Swish around inside tank.Get as much as you can out of tank.when you get it Quite clean,add /spray Carb cleaner into the tank.And some gas,drain again until its clean.Only enough gas to swish around.You can see inside tank with a mirror.

The gas tank vent is clogged, I'm not sure about If it has to be removed. I would get a second opinion

Mix the oil and gas together first.
Or you can add some gas into tank, then add some oil, then add more gas, then bit more oil ... so oil-gas mixture is uniform.

add two cans of Heat gas treatment to it with a full tank of gas to eliminate the moister that is left in the fuel system

The fuel pump is in the tank. Drop the gas tank.

1. Support the gas tank with a jack or something
2. unbolt the gas tank straps
3. unscrew the rubber filler neck going to gas tank
4. Lower gas tank slowly and disconnect gas lines
5. Turn the retainer ring that holds the fuel pump in the tank and left out.
6. Drain gas into gas cans to make the gas tank easier to left
7. Replace fuel pump and reinstall gas tank.

Fuel levels are equaled in the tanks via a frame mounted transfer pump that transfers fuel from the rear tank to the front tank where the main pump is. Your transfer pump needs replaced, and should run about 60 bucks. Should find the pump mounted to the frame between tanks.

I assume you're describing the gas tank cap. if so, the o-ring is missing from the gas tank cap. You can find those at hardware stores.

Yes there is a filter in tank but cant be removed,dump gas out of tank and leave gas cap off place a rag over tank to catch any gas that you couldnt remove doesnt blow all over then take your air hose and blow through the gas line this will clean the filter after you do this place a can under gas line to catch gas and put a little gas in the tank to see if your problem is solved .
