Running real hot and running bad coughing a bit losing power

Hi Ted, and the usual suspects are:
1. Insufficient oil supply or oil not circulating.
2. Insufficient air flow over the engine.
3. Heavy carbon deposit in combustion chamber.
4. Ignition timing retarded due to faulty MAP, CKP and/or CMP sensors.
5. Leaking intake or exhaust valve.
6. No oil cooler.
7. Normal engine oil tempurature 180-220 degrees.
Good luck

Drain plug location

It's a crankcase drain plug.
Almost everyone ignores it.
About the only time you'd use it is to drain the last little bit of oil before pulling the motor to split the cases.

I have a 2001 fxstb harley and while riding all the oil leaked out

No way out but to get the leak plugged before you start the bike again. Check at the drain plug if the leak was a loose fitting or a cross thread. But not to speculate it is bettter that you pour into new oil and start the engine if there is no signs of leak and rev up till the visible signs appear.

My 2005 harley night train leaking oil from the transmission how do i repair it.

This needs a new gasket normally, unless there has been some impact damage which has cracked the casing(?) Check where the leak is coming from. If it is further in towards the middle of the bike it could be a crack or a seal between the gearbox and primary chaincase. If it is under the chaincase, you need to remove the footrest/boards and remove the chaincase screws, hitting the outer cover with a rubber mallet to break the seal, and taking off the chaincase cover, clean off the old gasket and applying a new one with some silicone sealer. Make sure you drain the oil from the chaincase or you will have a huge mess!
