I have a 2004 Nissan pathfinder 3.5l SE with 109500 miles on the clock, and hear a ticking noise coming from the right valve cover does this model have a valve lash adjustment procedure.

The procedure is to check the gaps on all the valves then see how much they are out side the recommended gap
remove the camshafts and take the followers off the valve be careful to not lose the adjustment spacer from inside the follower you then measure the spacer to either go thicker or thinner to get the required gap do that with all followers that need adjustment refit camshafts and reset timing then remeasure the valve gaps

What is the clearance between the rocker arm and the valve spring in a GM 2.2L motor

there is no specification for what you want
the valve clearance is between the end of the rocker arm and the end if the valve stem
the stem end is proud of the spring retainer so if your rocker arm is touching the spring retainer , you have a big problem as for the procedure it is set out in the workshop manual but if you don't have a manual it can be done like this
you will need the firing order of the engine first
now adjust no 1 piston valves when the next piston to fire has the valves in the rock position
that is the exhaust valve just closing as the inlet is just opening a bit of movement of the crank makes either valve move up or down
adjust no 1 piston valves
now move on to the next piston to fire and adjust the valves that were rocking
follow that procedure until all the valves are adjusted
for example
on a 4 cylinder engine with a firing order of 1--3--4--2
bring up no 1 piston and adjust the valves when the valves on no 3 piston are rocking
next piston to fire is no 4 so adjust no 2 piston valves
next piston to fire is no 2 so adjust the valves when no 1 valves are rocking
the procedure is the same for engines with any number of cylinders

1985 Honda TRX. Why does it crank and run for a few minutes, then die?

Hi, David the following applies to carbureted also fuel injected models and the usual suspects are:
1. Severely discharged or a damaged battery, 9 volts or lower.
2. Failed alternator/generator and or voltage regulator.
3. Loose or corroded battery terminals and or cables especially the "NEGATIVE" cable, look for loose, corroded, or broken connectors inside the cable harness at "BOTH" ends.
4. Failed main circuit breaker or ignition switch, check for loose connections and continuity.
5. Failed system and or ignition relay, check for continuity.
6. Failed ignition coil, ignition/electronic module.
7. Failed CKP, CPS, CMP, MAP, TPS, or BAS sensor, corroded, loose or broken wire connector pins/sockets.
8. Throttle cables and or idle speed improperly adjusted hot idle speed should be 950 RPM to 1000 RPM.
9. Air/fuel mixture ***** improperly adjusted.
10. Water or dirt in the fuel system, carburetor or filter.
11. Restricted, blocked or kinked fuel line.
12. Fuel tank empty.
13. Gas cap is not venting properly or fuel tank venting system blocked.
14. A failed fuel pump, pressure regulator and or fuel injectors.
15. Vacuum line from intake manifold to petcock broken, cracked, or not attached, carburetor vent line plugged.
16. Needle and seat stuck closed in the float bowl.

Why won't it idle without choke?

Fuel supply problem somewhere. How is the float adjustment and the float valve? I'd guess the level adjustment is too low.

The rear pistons have seized on my trx 850. Is

I believe your rear brakes are mechanical though they could be hydraulic. This is not an easy repair, which ever method is used. It requires first and foremost, some way to hold up your bile while you remove the tire. Then you must remove the tire and drive train as well as other items ...

After the problem is repaired, there is reassembly and adjustment. Complicating the matter is possible corrosion on other parts of this 13 year old motorcycle.

My advice is for you to contract with your local Yamaha shop for this repair.

Checked valve clearances on trx 850 today found 4 inlet valves to have no gap at all o gap. What happens from here.Do i take it as o tolerance then subtract - 20 from the shim size in the bucket

Yes, exactly that.
If you have a gap of zero, and it should be 20 then that is correct.
Example, gap shpuld be 20, actual gap is 5, shims = 45, so 45-15(is 20-5=15)=30
