Have you checked the main fuse on the starter solenoid? It is a flat fuse that when it gets old can crack or it just blows . There should be a spare fuse in the solenoid box cover. The flat fuse is only available from Honda dealers. I rewired all my Honda's to common push fuses.

If it isn't a fuse, use a jumper cable to see if you can bypass the solenoid. If so, you have eliminated the possibility of a dead short in your starter. The next thing is to take apart the starter switch. You can search online and there are a few articles that describes the process. If you have a problem after cleaning, make sure the spring pushes the shunt up to the contacts. Sometimes they are stuck down against the spring. As a last resort, replace the solenoid.

It sounds like its your battery. If you had a bad alternator after jump starting the car would stall when coming to a stop. Check the battery connection and make sure they are clean and not loose. Get to car to a Interstate All Battery and they can check your battery and charging system for free.

Does the 2001 Valkyrie Interstate have a low oil pressure engine shutdown sensor?

Looking in the service manual it does NOT appear to have a low oil pressure shut down sensor. I has a low oil pressure sending unit that will turn on a light.

My 2000 Honda Valkyrie won't start. Replaced the battery, replaced the starter button assembly (whole right side switch assembly) with a new part directly from Honda. When I turn the key everything turns...

First check battery connections...
then check Ignition fuse
then check your neutral, sidestand up....kill switch to RUN...also try using clutch in case the neutral switch is not grounding the starter circuit properly.

I have a 1999 Valkyrie Interstate. How can I check to see if the alternator is working.

The fastest way is to get a multimeter and set is on DC volts, get to the battery and start the bike place the leads of the meter on the battery posts and rev the motor to about 2000 RPMs you should get a reading of 13-15 volts if the system is working if you dont get that reading then you will have to check the stator, and regulator.

99 valkyrie left bank doesnt come in till around 2500 rpm like linkage is out of adjustment??

If this Valkyrie has been sitting and not started for a while my guess would be clogged slow jets in the 3 left bank carbs. You could run some Techron fuel additive through it but I am thinking that the carbs need to be removed, disassembled and cleaned. That is what I had to do to my 1999 Valkyrie Interstate.

if alternator is fine as you say next thing to look at is the voltage regulator,it may have gone open circuit, whereby it wont work, another thing is your battery klight on the dah still working, because if this is not working the alternator wont work(same as a car)as the alternator needs to detect 12v at the diode before it will work,,,hope this helps
