I have a 2005 CRF 80. The shift lever has stripped the knerling on the shift rod coming from the gear box. Is this a difficult repair or can the shift lever be welded on?

To fix it properly you need to strip the engine You can just weld it on but cool with water as the seal will melt It isn't good welding it on as they do tend to snap the weld sooner or later. But nothing to loose if it keeps breaking you just replace the worn shaft anyway

Difficult shifting is typically resolved by clutch adjustment.

Gear wont change from 1st to 2nd or 3rd. the only gear i have is 1st and N. thanks

The bike has some bent shift forks. The repair is pretty major and requires some special tools. I include a generic diagram to show how the shift forks move left and right to move a slider gear into different gears. Please rate my answer. Thanks!

2007 Honda CRF 230-Not shifting out of 1st gear

I have a feeling you broke a yoke, That bike is fairly new, and I don't think the tranny is trashed yet, probably just something in there slipped off. I don't know how hard it is to get to the gearbox, but you have to go in there and find out. I couldn't find any complaints about it in the forums, supposed to be a nice bike. Hope this helps.

Is the 2006 honda crf 100 a solid bike or does it have engine problems? I have heard it does. I might buy a used one from a dealer for $1400 - is that a good buy? Thanks

Engine problems are usually due to a lack of maintenance, wrong oils being used, and shift forks getting bent due to improper shifting. If the bike starts easy, idles smoothly, accelerates and runs well and shifts smoothly up and down the range, $1400 sounds like a fair price.
