Sound like you have either a bad C.D.I box or bad pick-up coil.Hope this gets you going in the right direction.

36 volt ezgo

First of all, lift rear axle off the ground and place blocks or jack stands underneath. Check to see if you have 36 volts On your batteries. Now you want to run a jumper across the big cables on the solenoid. Press the accelerator and the motor should engage. Clicking is a pretty sure sign that the solenoid is bad. Please let me know if this is useful. I can further elaborate more troubleshooting if this doesn't solve your problem.

How to check selanoid in Harley Davidson golf cart

disconnect batteries. remove the 2 small wires from solenoids. attach jumper wires from the 2 terminals on solenoids 1 to + and 1 to - on battery. solenoids have a coil inside and the small wires when energized close the contacts. even though the solenoid closes it is possible that the contacts are burnt and wont allow the full amperage to pass.

No spark ferom coil

Probable Causes: Fuel Pump (P0230 to P0233) PCM (P0600 to P0606) Crank Sensor (P0355 to P0399) Fuel Pressure (P0190 to P0194) Chances are the Check Engine Light is not on, but you may find any of the following codes: P0230 to P0233 Fuel Pump codes P0600 to P0606 PCM related codes P0335 to P0339 Crank Sensor codes P0190 to P0194 Fuel Pressure Sensor codes No spark due to a bad crank position sensor, a faulty ignition module or PCM, a problem in the ignition circuit (ignition switch, antitheft system, wiring, etc.), a faulty park/neutral safety switch, a bad ignition coil (only on engines with a single coil ignition), or wet plugs or plug wires (did it rain last night, did you just wash the engine?) A less common cause is a worn starter that draws so many amps while cranking the engine that there's not enough juice left to adequately power the ignition system and fuel injectors. Contributing factors might be a weak battery and/or loose or corroded battery cables. No fuel because of a dead fuel pump, bad fuel pump relay, blown fuel pump fuse, plugged fuel filter or line, or failed PCM injector driver circuit or injector power supply relay. Or, the fuel tank might be empty (don't believe what the gauge is telling you), or the fuel tank might contain contaminated fuel (water or too much alcohol) or the wrong type of fuel (whoops, somebody put in diesel instead of gasoline). No compression because the timing belt or chain is broken, the timing belt or chain is loose and jumped out of time, or the overhead camshaft has snapped.

You will need an assistant.Mark and Remove all spark plug wires and 1 spark plug. Put the wire on the plug and hold it with INSULATED pliers ( the shock hurts like mad if you try this by hand). Place the electrode end of the plug against the motor somewhere where you can see the end clearly ( be sure you are in the shade ) . Have your assistant crank the motor over and watch for the spark jumping across to the electrode. The spark must be blue - any orange or yellow in the spark indicates a weak coil. Hope this helps!!
Thanks for using Fixya!

Try replacing your spark plugs. Make sure its getting gas. Make sure your air filter is nice and clean. Check your fuel filter. and if all those fail try replacing your coil.

I can jump the solenoid, to turn car over but will not start

You seem to know what you are doing by jumping the Solenoid. Jumping the Solenoid tells me it would not crank with the Key and that can mean you also lost the power to the coil. You need to check the "Tickler" wire at the Solenoid for the cranking problem. You need to check for spark at the plugs for the NO start condition.

When you jump the Solenoid make sure the Ignition is in Run position. A bad Ignition switch or Ignition Relay can keep power from going through the Ignition. You may want to backtrack from the plugs if no spark, to see if the Coil is getting power.

If you have fire at the plugs check your Inertia switch if you do not hear the fuelpump. You will also need the Ignition switch to work for the fuelpump to go on. All problems can come from Ignition switch.
