There is always a little drag that is normal otherwise the brake pads would rattle. if dragging in excess, usually the brake hose is bad and not letting the fluid return to the brake cylinder.. good luck

Brakes rubbing

it sounds like your caliper is sticking you may have to take off your brake pads and rotor and grease up the caliper you can have the best rotors and brake pads on your vehicle but without the caliper working as it should it will wear down the brake pads and rotors quickly

Toyota highlander front wheel noise when turning left

Check the brake rotor backing plate to see if it is rubbing against the brake rotor, check the brake pad condition at the same time, it may be the low brake pad sensors that you are hearing.

Honda prelude grinding noise when braking

Better inspect them again. If you have grinding noise when braking. It's only one thing the brake pads are rubbing on the rotors. Now the question is which front wheel. Remove the brakes and inspect the caliper see if it's not sticking and the sliders. Then inspect the pads and the rotor for a ridge that can cause noise when the pad rubs the ridge. Just looking at the wheel won't be enough you have to remove the parts to find the problem

Grinding or rubbing noise in left front wheel, mostly when braking . What do i look for?

Grinding is a sign on brakes in need of replacement. Your pads are worn through and now the metal backing plate of the pad is grinding up against the rotor. Replace the pads and rotors asap to prevent further damage.

I hear a rubbing sound when i go down the road.when i slow up it stops, when i speed up it gets louder.it is coming from the front wheels i think.i just had the brakes done about a month ago???? help

Have the front wheel bearings checked they are a sealed unit that has to be pressed in or assembly removed and replaced. Or your brakes are dragging and rubbing against the rotor it could be the caliper is sticking or the rotor doesn't have enough wave, warp cut in it to push the pads back enough. Most people think a rotor is cut perfectly flat if this was true the pads would rub against the rotor all the time. The car could be jacked up and on stands and have someone listen for the noise right next to the wheel while you speed up the wheels and slow down with the brakes and don't try for 100mph you could hurt the tires

My brakes are scrubbing and antilock light comes on, also when ever i back up, my front left wheel makes a very loud noise. kind of like rubbing metal. whats wrong?

the noise is probably the ware sensors on the brake pads making noise the noise lets you know that the brakes are getting thin are are ready to be replaced.if you let this go to long you can damage the brake rotors, make sure you check to make sure the caliper is not sticking on the left side being this side is making more noise ,a stuck caliper can cause premature brake pads ware .

1994 Pick up. Came into the shop needing brakes

Yes it could be your wheel bearings but it also could be the pins that hold your brake pads in. The pins need to be well lubercated to allow the pads to move freely on them. the wheel bearing might be miss adjusted or have some thing in them causing the noise. i would first check the caliper make sure the pads are not draging on the rotor at all. make sure the pads do not have rocks or dirt stuck in them. The problem is most likely to be with your brakes or even your dust cover for your front rotors. make sure the dust cover is not bent where it is touching the rotors.
