Electrical problem

I suspect a resistive ground between negative battery post and chassis...If you have an ohmmeter and a wee bit of knowledge on its use perform the following test...Set meter to read X- 10...Engine off...Place one lead on the center of the negative battery post...The other on bare metal of fender...You must read close to zero ohms...while holding the lead on battery negative post place the other on bare metal of engine block...Must read close to zero ohms...If you read 500 to 2000 ohms you have located the fault...Run test and give results...saailer

The combination switch (turn signals, head lights, high beams) on my 1999 Toyota Corolla need to be replace. The dealer wants about $500 to do the job. I can purchase the replacement switch for around...

Air Bag on steering wheel? disconnect battery for 5 min
then remove carefully...torx screws in back side of wheel?!
Remove wiring loosen nut but do not remove push seat back grasp firmly and tug while rocking wheel not turning.
Remove shaft covers should be in your face then.
Some places sell complete "combo switch" others only light switch be sure of what you are paying for.

Battery warning light

I am 99% sure it is the alternator. They are called throw away alternators because dealers are not supposed to rebuild them however I worked at a dealership for over 20 years and rebuilt 100's or more. If you know where an alternator/starter shop is, that would probably be the cheapest way to go instead of buying one.

Battery charge

the battery is dead. that happened to me and i had 3 choices: 1)buy a new dvd player 2)buy a new recharable battery or 3)keep the portable plugged to the wall while i watch movies. i chose number 3 because i usually just use it at places plugs are available. but yeah, the battery is dead.
