Question about 2000 Harley Davidson FLSTC Heritage Softail Classic
Michelle,
You have not mentioned the spark plug. Did not check or did not mention here? Anyway, please check if the rear plug is getting blueish spark. You also mention of an asthamatic running. It could be fuel problem as well. Remove the rear spark plug wire, insulate it and try to run the bike a short period. See if there is any difference. And then come back to me.

Spark plugs were checked and replaced (just in case), plug leads were replaced, coil was swapped with one from exact same model, as was the CDI. Turn signal wiring which ran inside handle bar was removed, checked and is now on outside of bar. Ignition switch was checked. Heated grips with wiring was discarded. Sorry, forgot to mention that speedo needle oscillates wildly when problem is encountered. Digital distance indicater on dash flickers on and off and engine red light comes on. Hope this info helps.
