Are you replaceing the crankshaft as part of a performance rebuild? not necessarily a solution, but i recommend that you have your crank and other rotating assembly parts balanced by your machine shop. it is also critical that you check your clearances or you could damage the rotating assembly parts. i recommend purchasing a chilton's, or haynes manual. these manuals walk you through a teardown and rebuild procedure. my advice is not meant to be insultive to you because i dont know your mechanical skill level, but it would be a shame if your engine seized due to a bent rod/bearing failure because you did not check your clearances. good luck with your install

Looking for distributor information hei Ford OMC 5.0 1977

HEI is GM term not fORD most fords then are DuraSpark.!
what is OMC? is this a UK truck or something, 5.0Liters
NO MODEL FORD TOLD.
Here in USA we buy the paper book by maker ford
model ?
is OMC a model car, or pickup truck or SUV or? what
we then find 1977 , 46 year old books, not easy. ever.
google might, ever try googling it and put country in the search too.
cars and engines and smog and spark parts are not the same all over earth ever.! (FACTS)
OMC here means outboard motor co.?
I do guess car is in UK, but not told.
just buy the book on EBAY for UK. if I guessED UK correctly.

This is all in the service manual;
but gee all are in paper then, unless wild men scanned a few pages. no PDF digital in year 1977 , mostly not until 2000 year
that means any digital found iN scans, ARE INCOMPLETE.
1000 PAGE BOOKS ARE CRAZY HARD LABOR TO SCAN.

the manuals real, are sold used (and rare) on ebay buy one
I would for sure.
I am not clear on 3 things, what the problem is and what diagram means. (mech Assemble, electrical schematics or timing steps.)

my guess is you want to TIME IT?
or rewire it or what?
the DIzzY then are timed at crank pulley set to TDC zero degree mark.FIRING., then learn rotor direction(crank it and see, first )
then mark rotor #1 spark plug
and do mark the cap #1HV terminal first (use a sticker)
or the job gets harder, and CCW for 1 is 5 OKAY?
then lay down the HV wire set 1 to max, using correct firing order below.

then
there are 2 DIZZY planting instructions
1: pulled dizzy crank shaft not turned. and cap marked first.
2: pulled dizzy out then crank was turned later .OOPS

history FORD usa, 5L
1961 was first 5.0L: here,. 302 named
(from 1968-2000) with a displacement of 302 cu in (later marketed as 5.0 L). later still ford changed spark parts from 351 to 302 ,

The 302 was manufactured in Windsor from 1968 to 1978. Ten years of manufacture was punctuated by several design changes, some small or larger. In 1970, the manufacturing of the engine was moved from Windsor, Ontario to Cleveland, Ohio
. USA facts only.okay, the world is huge no? as aer ford variants.
From the 1978 car model year, the 302 became more commonly known as the 5.0 Liter
seen in lots of mustangs.
so if is a mustang we buy the mustang service manual
and bliss happens, (facts hard and cold and all steps on any dizzy is there) by year. and the timing is not the same in calif as our FED engines. same steps but not same, BTDC timing advance.
1977 STANG or F150 PU or F100 PU or bronco.
pre 1986 firing order is unique below.
rotor is CCW directly (turns) some call it the non HO engine.
early 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8,
SM quoted and pasted. just one car, a Bronco. (i had to guess)_
worst case is DISTURBED
If the crankshaft has been rotated while the distributor was removed, the distributor must be timed with respect to the crankshaft. For Conventional and Transistor ignitions: Rotate the engine until the No. 1 piston is at TDC of the compression stroke. Position the distributor in the block with the rotor in the No. 1 firing position. Rotate the distributor until the points just about open.NOTE
Make sure the oil pump intermediate shaft properly engages the distributor shaft. It may be necessary to crank the engine with the starter after the distributor gear is engaged in order to engage the oil pump intermediate shaft. For Electronic ignition systems: Rotate the engine until the No. 1 piston is at TDC on the compression stroke. Align the correct initial timing mark with the pointer on the crankshaft damper. Position the distributor in the block with one of the armature segments aligned with the pickup on the stator and the rotor in the No. 1 firing position. The terminal housing is marked with an embossed "No.1" at the No. 1 terminal.
NOTE
Make sure the oil pump intermediate shaft properly engages the distributor shaft. It may be necessary to crank the engine with the starter after the distributor drive is partially engaged in order to engage the oil pump intermediate shaft. If the previous step was necessary, return the crankshaft to the initial timing alignment.
Install retaining clamp and bolt or retaining bolt and lock -washer, but do not tighten. On electronic ignition distributors, rotate the distributor to advance the timing to the position where the armature tooth is properly aligned.Connect primary wire and install distributor cap.Check and reset ignition timing as described below.Tighten hold down clamp bolt or retaining bolt.Connect vacuum hose (s). this paste is 1977 bronco 302.
they had like 3 distributors then, and only the service manual covers all 3. and more outside USA

I was changing my head gaskets on a 2001 windsor 5.4l triton and I forgot to put the cam lock on the cam before removing the chian. How can I determine the right position of the cams now?

Ok I spent half an hour typing in detail how to re-time your cam and then decided it would take me hours to type out the process and thought surely someone out there must have the steps and possibly even diagrams so I started searching the internet and found a few different instructional how too's. Several of them were missing steps/hard to follow or (based on my knowlege) way wrong. However I did find one with step by step instruction in detail with diagrams, and again based on my knowlege "a flawless how to" that was proper.

I know the instruction says its for the 4.6l however, the timing process is identical for the 5.4L (Windsor v8) nice motor by the way. So dont freak-

Need info to rebuild 351 windsor motor 1998

port polish only on heads, they crack plus valve job. on the block and cam, that motors all torque so go with low end output, fat cam, 30 over max on bore-they crack. safest way for big power is a stroke kit. call edelbrock tell them you wishes and what you have now, main thing is how much your gonna have to bore to clean up walls, and they give you some good options. unless you have alota money and dont require this motor to be dependable dont expect more than 320hp and 350 ft of torque. 302 will take you farther cheaper and lighter for your money. if your talking for a car and not a truck- go 302 and dont look back

I need a diagram to show me how to replace my timing chain on a 94 gmc cierra p/u truck 4.3l engine v 6 2 door extended cab

I don't have a diagram but here are written instructions.

I don't know how much you know about the subject so I will start at the beginning. First you have to get to it, you can pull the motor or leave it in the vehicle. Its a little harder with it in depending on the space you have in engine compartment. If your leaving the motor in, which I imagine you are, your going to have to take the front end of the vehicle apart. Remove the grill, bumper if need be, radiator, fan, water pump, harmonic balancer, you will need to buy a puller and a installer for the harmonic balancer. You can get a puller kit from harbor frieght tools for $10. You can buy the installer from Summit racing (web site) for around $30 or you can buy one that will do both the install and removal from summit for $70. Once you have removed your harmonic balancer you can remove your timing cover to expose your timing chain. Turn the motor using a socket wrench until the timing marks on the crank gear and cam gear line up. The marks are usually just white dots, you want the crank mark to be up towards the cam and the cam mark towards the crank, the marks will be up and down from each other. Once you have the marks lined up remove the bolts holding the timing chain to the cam and crank. Remove the timing chain as a whole unit with the cam and crank gear still on it. If the crank gear doesn't want to come loose use your puller on it. when you get it off just put your new gear on and line up the timing marks then put it back on as one unit. If you cant get the crank gear on all the way by hand buy a crank install tool (summit) they run about $24. While you have the thing apart it would be a good Idea to put a new timing chain on. Depending on your vehicle this would also be a good time to change your cam if need be. Its not that hard to do it just takes a while, take your time and don't force anything.
