My 2004 Diesel Kia Sorento takes 18 seconds to cold start. OK when hot. I have changed glow plugs and checked them. Injectors seem to get to pressure. Computer shows no errors. Battery is new and turn

is the air intake clear , new filter nothing squashing the intake pipe, how long does it take for the glow plug light to go out once you've turned ignition on ?

Low speed operation problem

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

Check the motor start capacitor and if that is ok, check the voltage into the motor on the common and low leads to be sure it is not the relay. If neither of those is the issue the motors internal start switch is likely the problem and will need to be fixed or more likely replaced. That would best be done at a local electric motor repair shop.

If this answer does not fix your problem, please comment with additional details prior to rating the answer. Positive feedback is appreciated once your problem is solved!

try smacking the gas tank before you start it. give it a few good hits with a rock or a hammer but don't break it. i had a nissan quest that had the fuel pump going bad and allowed the fuel lines inside the pump to freeze. if that helps then you have to replace your fuel pump

Why does my bike take so long to reach a normal operating temperture? It will keep cutting out until at least 4 miles is reached.

only 4 miles????? thats not bad realy,,after all its darn cold air out there!!,you never start it and let it run up for a fuw minuets before you drive away then? a cold engine will have maximum engine were done to it if driven cold! have you checked the thermostat out? if its stuck open the engine will take longer to warm up,,,but 4 miles???? thats nothing my BMW takes forever to warm up,,,the fan has only ever started up once in 3 years of riding it??? i was sat in a jam up for 30 minuets first with the engine ticking over!!! dont worry it will warm up quicker when the wether warms up

On my wifes 2004 yukon, the engine warms up and the blower works fine, but it takes forever for the air to finally blow warmly. when it finally does, if we switch it to another location (floor or defrost),...

iwould check the selector motor, and also replace the thermostant, start with the stant first, the selector motor is what runs the door for hot or cold the motor is a common problem,if the temp gauge is showing a quick warm up temp then its the selector motor, if it takes a while to reach operating temp then replace the t-stant,also make sure the coolant is full in radiator, check when cold or warm, dont open when hot, hope this is helpful.

Stalling when cold

Have you changed your fuel filter? Pump ok otherwise would be doing it all the time. Injector pump on some of these has a thermal advance solenoid on the side of the pump If so check power going to it Also check glow plugs and after timer
