remove caliper and install new rebuild kit, flush out old fluid from system. sounds like old fluid and seals gone bad.dirt gets built up and piston will stick.

I need to rebuild both of my front calipers on my 2000 FLHPI. The pistons are sticking, so I bought the seal kits (rebuild kits). Now, aside from disassembling the calipers, what should I do to free the...


If by "disassembling the calipers" you mean splitting them open, DO NOT do that.
You detach the caliper so that you can remove the pads and get at the piston, but then what you should do is to simply pop the piston out.
That can be done simply by pumping the brake pedal, using air pressure (with a rag to prevent the piston from flying around), or with a grease gun.
Then once the piston is out, you simply wire brush any corrosion off. If the piston is so pitted that it can not be made smooth and will leak, then it should be replaced.
If you wash them out with anything other than brake fluid, then be sure to blow out any residue with compressed air.
Use lots of brake assembly lube, and ensure the new dust seal is water tight. Bleeding the brakes will flush out any remaining dust.

Stuck calipers


You may have contaminated brake fluid. Try flushing out the brake lines, calipers, and master cylinder by bleeding the heck out of the brakes. Use a NEW can of brake fluid (see why below). This is something overlooked in vehicle maintenance. Whenever doing a brake job, flush the system. I learned the hard way, having calipers drag, not fully releasing, to change them and have it happen again. Finally figured out it was bad fluid which was ruining the calipers. Brake fluid absorbs moisture, which will wreck the system. Just leaving a bottle of fluid with a loose, or missing cap will allow moisture to enter. Brake lines will rust on the inside, and loose particles of rust floating around will cause big problems.

Passenger rear caliper looks to be leaking out the e-brake spring is this right. look at the brake lines they look good


it could be leaking at the where they join together or at the disc seals at disc check and see.

non return type blockage in the brake master cylinder. Requires stripping the master and replacing valve. A big bleed may help to clear the fault. Fluid is leaving the reservoir and unable to return. Fluid only flowing one way. See your dealer if you are not confident in re-building the master cylinder.

Front brakes on my yamaha ttr 125 wont work


First. Check the brake fluid level.
Second. Look for leaks in the lines and calipers.
Third. Check the brake pads.
Fourth. If pads worn, pull and replace
Fifth. If pads are okay and all works above the calipers.
Time to pull the calipers and rebuild.
Go to local dealer buy some parts and clean.
Rebuild

Suzuki atv brake rebuild no pressure


Cylinders, lines and calipers must be bled thoroughly and in order.
Start with the master cylinder.
Break the line loose at the cylinder and tighten it firmly so you can loosen it easily.
pump the lever/pedal several times,(don't worry about pressure yet). Hold the lever/pedal down.
break the line loose slightly, just enough to release the pressure. Re-tighten the line and release the lever.
Repeat this procedure several times. (4-6)
Repeat this procedure at the line just above the caliper.
Finally repeat this procedure at the bleed screw.
This takes a while but will insure that all the air is out of the lines. It dosen't take much air to ruin a great brake job.
