You could ring Volkswagen service but using 1lt per 500 km is extremely excessive!

If your Van is old, you could be having problem with your engine cylinders oil rings being worn or broken (obvious Black smoke and oily exhaust pipe).

Check the followings as your Van could be losing oil from:
- Oil refill cap, dipstick cap
- Head oil seals
- Engine oil sump gasket or emptying plug at the bottom
- Engine gaskets
- Oil engine rubber seals
Look for oil leaks/stains under your van: this would be a good indication of seals leak.

Take your care to a motor mechanic before it gets worst!

Hope the information is of some assistance.

Do you need to torque oil pan bolts?
Engine oil pan bolts range in torque from seven foot-pounds to 22 ft-lb or more for large engines with heavier pans and bolts. Once you've torqued the bolts and filled the engine with oil, you should run the engine for five minutes to bring it up to normal operating temperature.

How to reset change oil soon light

Oil Life Monitor Resetting (KD, KE)
Description
The engine oil life monitor will indicate when to change the engine oil and the engine oil filter - usually between 5 000 km (3,000 miles) and 12 500 km (7,500 miles) since the last oil change. Under severe conditions, the CHANGE OIL message may be displayed before 5 000 km (3,000 miles). The vehicle must not be driven more than 12 500 km (7,500 miles) or 12 months without an oil change.
The engine oil life monitor will not detect dust in the oil. If the vehicle is driven in a dusty area, be sure to change the oil every 5 000 km (3,000 miles) or sooner if the CHANGE ENGINE OIL message is displayed.
Reset the oil life monitor when the oil has been changed.
Resetting Procedure
Press the INFORMATION SKIP button on the DIC control panel in order to display the OIL LIFE LEFT message.
Press and hold the RESET NO button until the display shows 100% ENGINE OIL LIFE.

The car uphill obvious weakness, engine power performance Descent

This is probably due to not cause prolonged oil changes, oil filter, air filter causing incomplete combustion of fuel, increased engine deposits and other issues.
Recommended oil, oil filters, each with about 5,000 km to be replaced once, air filter and oil filter every 10,000 km driving needs to be replaced, otherwise the air, fuel and oil impurities cause parts wear and clogging the oil, thus affecting the normal operation of the engine.
Use obd2 for automotive diagnostics , you can improve vehicle safety performance and driving more safer.

High oil consummation for subaru 2012

From what you report, the difference from the original 4500Km and the later 14,500KM is 10,000KM. This does match the claim of the new oil. It does seem excessive, but the engine did get more than twice the distance than at the first interval of 4500KM.(2 x 4500KM=9000KM + 1000KM).

You should get a compression test to check for the piston rings and while they do this, they will remove the sparkplugs which could be physically examined. But getting someone to do this will probably require a call to Subaru Corporate Customer Service.

The Corporate people will probably have Data to tell if this oil consumption is higher than normal. The Corporate people would know about all the problems versus 1 Dealer and his experiences.

Somehow I want to say that in the past, new cars had a break-in period for the first 500 Miles, not to exceed 50 MPH. Do not know what that is in Kilometers, but you may have exceeded this in the first 3 days of driving. There are all kinds of theories for break-in periods.

You may benefit from a Browser search for Subaru's like a BLOG for Subaru or Impreza owners.

I hope my solution is helpful.

My c220 1995 with 107,000 mercedes consumes 1lt every 1500 km but it does not have exaust blue smoke

Check for external oil leakage along right side of cylinder-head. Oil can burn on exhaust in such small amounts you will not see it or smell it.

All VW product have plasma coated bores and for this reason will "use"oil.the workshop manual says "1 litre every 350 km is ACCEPTABLE".I have NEVER had a car THAT BAD,unless worn out.
check your oil every 500 miles MAX.and use 10/40 semi synthetic.(as per VW Europe/middle/far east manual.)change every 10k inc filter.

Oil turning black after 800 km. on 2000 in-line 6 Jeep Charokee

if your jeep is a diesel it is normal for the oil to turn black, if the jeep is a petrol, then that is not normal, try using engine flush before a oil change, and make sure that you change the oil filter while the sump plug is off, this will make sure that all the oil is drained, the oil filter does have about .75 liters of oil.

My 2005 Endeavor with 60000 km burns 1 litre of oil every 1000 km at highway speeds, about half that around town. Is this a normal occurrence or is there a problem with the motor?

Not normal, clean burning engine, mine has 220,000 kms's. Are you using a full synthetic oil? Tried it a couple times and it took 1 litre between oil changes. I use semi synthetic oil, no issues. How long has it been burning this amount of oil? Get to your dealer and have him fix your engine.
