Rear swingarm removal

Hi, Johnos for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. If necessary, transport your bike to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your issue. For more information about your issue please visit the website below. Good luck and have a nice day.

How do you remove the rear swing arm from a RT one

First you'll need to get everything attached to the swingarm off. So that means the rear wheel, brake, any pieces of trim (not like you have much to begin with) and any brackets that go along with those. The shocks will need to be unbolted next and then the main bolt that pins the swingarm to the frame. I don't know much about your bike in particular, but it looks massively simple compared to some of the more cramped designs out there.

How to change a swingarm on a harley davidson flhtc

Remove the rear wheel, brakes and shocks. Remove the silver plugs in the center of the passenger footboard mounts. Remove the rear floorboard mounts, and the rubber mounts behind them. Remove the bolt on the left side of the swingarm pivot. Chances are the pivot bolt is rusted in, so you may have to pound it out with a drift. Replace the rubber mounts when you put everything back together.

Buell thunderbolt belt change

You do not remove the swingarm to change the belt. You need to loosen the rear axle and slide the rear wheel forward to remove tension. there are some plastic covers that need to be removed to get to the front pulley tho.

How to remove a rear axle

Under the swingarm you will see a large pinchbolt. Remove that, then jack up the rear of the bike (swingarm stand recommend), and use the 7/8" double nut from your under seat tool kit to remove the rear axle.

I have a 1993 vulcan that needs new tires. I have the front wheel off no problem, but I don't even know where to start taking the rear apart. Would appreciate any expert advice.

Easy as pie. Put bike on center stand or use swingarm stand. Remove nut from rear axle. Remove pinch bolt from rear axle, and pull axle out. Take spacer from between frame and rear brake. Remove brake strut, and brake caliper. Pull wheel out of final drive, and lower to floor. You might have to let the air out of the tire to get it out from between the final drive and swingarm. After changing the rear tire inflate it to seat the bead, deflate to get back in place, then reinflate. Put some grease on the splines in the final drive before reinstalling the wheel, this will make it easier for the next change.

Removing rear wheel, how to?

Jack up the bike (either swingarm or muffler jack), then on the under side of the swingarm is a large pinchbolt, remove that. Use the 7/8" nut that comes in the bikes toolkit and a 7/8" to remove the rear axle. Slide the belt out of the way, the wheel will come right out.

HOW DO I CHANGE THE SWING ARM ON A 2003 GSXR 750?

FIRST, LIFT AND SUPPORT THE REAR OF THE UNIT OFF THE GROUND. CANT USE AXLE LIFT OF COURSE. TIE FRONT END DOWN, BOTH SIDES AND LIFT UNDER TRANNY WITH JACK.
REMOVE THE REAR AXLE AND REAR WHEEL ASSY. DISCONNECT THE REAR SHOCK FROM THE SWINGARM ASSY. REMOVE THE SWINGARM SHAFT LOCK AND NUT FROM ONE SIDE AND PUSH OUT OF THE FRAME WITH SOFT BLUNT OBJECT AS NOT TO DAMAGE THE SHAFT END. YOU WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO CUT CHAIN TO REMOVE. REINSTALL IN REVERSE OF THIS.
