thats sounds like a core plug has blownout or rusted through, have to split engine from gearbox to gain access to the rear of engine block but first make sure its not above where gearbox housing butts to engine ie may have a higher core plug or a split hose ,

Throttle will not snap back

the cable splits in two, one going to the carburetor other going to the engine side, so either the splitting point has come unhooked, or cable is broken by the throttle point, or cable unhooked at engine mounting point as it`s attached to a pulley wheel. My bet is on the cable splitting pont, buy a decent cable.

Do i need to remove engine studs on 1989 GSXR 1100 to split the crank case?

Usully, studs are simply bolts that have removable nuts on them. You should not have to remove the studs to split the case.

answered my own question. No you do not have to remove engine studs to split the case. You do have to make sure that all of the case bolts are removed, even if they arent in the manual.

How to remove engine from aford focus, do you split of the gear box

yes anytime you pull a front wheel drive engine you will split the engine and trany from each other unless... you can drop it out the bottom all together on the K member/ engine cradle. its all about the same time to do it either way.

i have change mine with open motor while reparing my transmission and i`m not sure that`s a good idea to change it in place, but if it`s work you will save time. I took about 8 hours to close transmission and motor and take it back in place.
