You probably got water in a loose or broken wire causing it to short and even burning out a fuse or fuses.

When i put the key in and turn it, the oil light comes on, followed by the word check. whats wrong?

if the light doesn't extinguish itself within a few seconds of starting the bike, then you need to take it to a garage and have a diagnostic check done on it.

I have a 2006 Suzuki M109R fuel leak

Check your fuel tank vent... You might try to open the gas cap before you start it to see if that stops it from happening. If it does somehow your tank is being pressurized by your fuel pump and venting may be an issue.
