The guage stopped working, because a code set , possibly due to a faulty fuel sending unit, or a wiring issue. This would neeed to be scan tested for the current code. After repair is made, and the code is cleared, the guage will work again. Thanks...

SOURCE: my fuel gauge stopped working

the problem is in the wiring to tank, or the sending unit in tank is bad.

1996goldwing trike tail lights fuel gauge temp gauge not working all other lights work

If the tail lights, low fuel light, temperature gauge, and fuel gauge are not working, there could be several possible causes:
  1. Blown Fuses: Check the fuses for the tail lights, low fuel light, temperature gauge, and fuel gauge. If any of these fuses are blown, replace them with a new one.
  2. Loose or damaged wiring: Inspect the wiring for the tail lights, low fuel light, temperature gauge, and fuel gauge. Look for any loose connections or damaged wires. Repair or replace any damaged wires and ensure all connections are tight.
  3. Faulty sending units: The low fuel light and fuel gauge are connected to the fuel sending unit in the gas tank. The temperature gauge is connected to a temperature sending unit on the engine. Check these sending units for faults, and replace them if necessary.
  4. Faulty instrument cluster: The instrument cluster itself could be faulty, causing the temperature and fuel gauges to not work. A qualified mechanic can test the instrument cluster to see if this is the issue.
It's also possible that the trike has a separate electrical system for the tail lights, and that this system is malfunctioning. A qualified mechanic can test the trike's electrical system to determine the cause of the issue.

1998 Chevrolet Malibu 54k miles - replaced fuel pump assembly & now some dash warning lights and clock stay on. Any ideas?

Replacing a fuel pump has nothing to do with instrument cluster lights or the clock staying on. Unless you shorted wires , did you disconnect the negative battery cable before hand ?
The body control module (BCM) performs the following functions:
• A/C compressor request
• A/C cooling fan
• Exterior and interior lighting control
- Daytime running lights (DRL)
- Automatic lighting control
- Fog lamps
- Interior lighting
• Battery rundown
• Chime
• Gauge control
• Instrument cluster indicator control
• Fuel gauge control
• Temperature gauge control
• Theft deterrent
Interpreting all of the driver warnings sent by the control modules on the class 2 serial data line
Sending the information to the instrument cluster in the form of a SPI serial data bus message
The following list of messages are sent by the BCM to the instrument cluster:
• Fuel gauge position
• Temperature gauge position
• Oil pressure
• Low engine coolant
• Check oil
• Volts
• ABS
• High beam
• Low fuel
• High temperature
• Washer fluid level low
• CRUISE
• BRAKE
• SERVICE VEHICLE SOON
• Door ajar
• Seat belt
• THEFT SYSTEM
• PRNDL
Check the fuel level sensor wires , the fuel level sensor is a input to the BCM .

Fuel gauge stays on full mark when empty, but the low fuel indicator light comes on. working the fuel sending unit by hand, I raise up the float and the low fuel light goe off

Fuel gauge could be bad .Depending on make , model and year vehicle ! The instrument cluster would need to be pull from the vehicle and sent out to be fixed or buy a new one .

Fuel gauge does not move, stays on E, after car starts. Low fuel light is not coming on.

Hello graytape, was the fuel gauge and low fuel light working and then one day just stopped working?, if so, you have probably blown a fuse and you should be able to locate what fuse and where it's located in the owner's manual.
If you recently got the vehicle and then you found out that the gas gauge and low fuel light doesn't work then that is something completely different.
without knowing the year of the vehicle I can only give you an educated guess.
Many vehicles have a float in the gas tank and this float is directly linked to what you see on the gas gauge. However, after a number of years the floats get saturated from the fuel and become heavy, heavy enough to where they don't float anymore. That is one of the most common causes of the fuel gauge not working.
The sensor that activates the low fuel warning light may be independent of the fuel gauge and the fuel in the tank isn't low enough to turn it on. Your tank has to be very low to activate the low fuel warning light.
Good luck!

Had another fuel pump installed. now fuel gauge does not work. low fuel light stays on. whats wrong?

DODGE DAKOTA HAD 3 DIFFERENT ENGINES BACK IN 92. ENGINES ARE 2.5 - 3.9 - 5.2 YOU COULD HAVE THE WRONG FUEL PUMP INSTALL.WHICH WILL MAKE ELECTRICAL HOOK UP DIFFERENT.THAT WILL CAUSE FUEL GAUGE NOT TO WORK.

1990 toyota camry gas gauge quit working

Either fuel sensor is bad or coated with sulfur residue from inferior gas. Try a can of Sea Foam gas treatment OR can of Techuron concentrate. Both available at auto parts and , of course, Walmart ! Add to full gas tank, drive 75 - 100 miles and see if all is well. If not, condide4 sensor change
