You have lost a leg of main power to start relay(that's what's clicking), check ignition for a black wire pulled out of the connector,if not there in main connector underdash panel, black wire also.

I have a 1997 Ford Ranger whose number 24 fuse keeps blowing everytime I start the ignition what does the number 24 fuse go to and any suggestions on the problem.

The number 24 fuse has to do with the starter interupt relay having to do with the antitheft system (if equipt). Also if it is a manual transmission it has to do with the clutch pedal position switch. The starter interupt relay is in a relay panel under the dash in the center. Kind of a hidden relay box. Would check the wiring to which applies to your vehicle. If you need any wiring diagrams for that circuit, feel free to email me at csautomotivecars@att.net and I'll be happy to email them to you.

1998 chevy cavalier turn on key, dash lights flash and something under dash clicks and wont start

Either you have a ignition switch problem or there is a aftermarket alarm. When there is just a clinking this tell you there is not good contact being made.

93 Saturn wont start, battery, lights, all good

There's a relay that's under the dash. keep turning the key until you find what's clicking then replace that relay, the car should start.

I have a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer and recently everytime I start it up, I hear this ticking noise that appears to be coming from under the driver's side dash... Please help.. No money to fix

It is probably a relay clicking that is going to go out in the near future. If you have a problem with the chevy down the road, first thing to do is check your relays under the dash with a cheapo ohmmeter or muti-tester and check for resistance

Chevy starter ignition

This isn't a solution but it should help. Pull the column off and see what color the wires are that go to the ignition switch. Next look under the dash and find the connector that has these wires. Start the truck, reach under the dash and pull the connector apart and see if it dies. If it doesn't then consider the ECM relay is sticking. If it dies when you pull the connector apart, then your ignition switch could be back and is shorting the constant hot to the ignition out allowing the truck to keep running. You can also try pulling the ECM relay when its running and see if it dies. If it does then switch it with another relay, like the headlights if they use the same style relay and turn the headlights on then off and see if they stay on, alone with starting the truck and running it for a period of time then shutting it off and see if it dies or not. Post a comment and let me know if either of these has an effect.

I have a ford explorer 1996 it turns over but wont start its happened about 4 diffrent times it can last from a day to a week i have gotten it towed to a mechanic twice each time by time it gets there its...

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM IT SPENT A WEEK IN THE SHOP AND THE CAR WOULD START EVERYTIME. I BROUGHT THE CAR HOME AND READ ALL I COULD ON THIS PROBLEM.
IT WAS THE IGNITION RELAY $7 TO $15 AT ANY PART STORE. IN THE MAIN POWER BOX ON THE DRIVER SIDE NEAR THE FIRE WALL (BACK WALL). GO AND BUY THE RELAY FIRST IT'S A LITTLE BLACK CUBE ABOUT 1" X 1" THE IGNITION AND THE FUEL PUMP RELAY ARE THE SAME PART. NOW REMOVE THE RELAY CLOSEST TO THE FIRE WALL THAT IS FOR THE FUEL PUMP. TRY TO START YOUR CAR. IT SHOUD TRY TO FIRE UP WITH THE FUEL THAT IS LEFT IN THE INGINE BUT WONT START. NOW PUT THE RELAY BACK IN AND START IT.
NOW PULL OUT THE SECOND RELAY FROM THE BACK. THAT IS THE IGNITION RELAY.
TRY TO START THE CAR, IT WILL TURN OVER BUT NOT FIRE AT ALL JUST LIKE IT WHEN WE HAVE THE PROBLEM ON THE ROAD. SO IF IT'S THE FUEL RELAY IT WILL TRY TO FIRE A LITTLE IF IT'S THE IGNITION IT JUST TURNS OVER. MY RELAY WAS A ORIGANL FORD SO THE UNDER SIDE OF IT WAS WHITE. PART OF IT WAS BROWN LIKE IT OVER HEATED. I TOOK IT APART TO CHECK TO CONTACT PIONTS INSIDE TO SEE IF THEY WERE BURT AND THEY WERE. CAUSING IT TO NOT MAKE CONTACT EVERYTIME AN NOT LETTING THE CAR START.
EMAIL ME IF YOU NEED HELP. SAUIN@AOL.COM
