Speedomitor stopt working on my bmw k1200rs bike! any ideas please.

I know this is an old post,but my solution was to have the gears replaced by Ft>Lauderdale speedometer. They had to do it twice after finding out the first time the original silicone like gears eventually just give in to the heat.2nd time had hard plastic gears put in and no no problem since.
