Question about 1995 kawasaki ZX-9R Ninja

2 Answers

I have a 94 zx9 and i'm having trouble starting it. When I push the ignition button it clicks almost like it doesn't have a juice. I replaced the battery and are still having problems. When I play with the clutch it also clicks at certain points. The relay seems okay, I feel lost. Can anyone help?

It is from sitting outdoors or getting wet. There is a connection under the airbox. Clean all the connections and keep your bike indoors and voila. Problem solved.

Your clutch safety switch, neutral safety switch or sidestand safety switch is bad or sticking. since you stated it starts if you play with the clutch then the clutch safety switch is most likely at fault.

I had the exact same problem. I tried new battery, starter solenoid. But turned out it was just from getting damp. I had the bike covered but I guess it was from the condensation. Hope this helps.

Tractor will not start and only gives an initial click when key is turned

Check to see if juice is reaching the starter motor terminals and that it is grounded. If ground is ok and no juice then you will have to back trace all of the components in that circuit . Also check to make sure that all of the safety switches are in closed position when you go to start and run tractor.

Can I install a push button start on my 94 c1500 suburban?

Sure can. cut the yellow wire off the ignition switch under the dash. Run a fused wire (40 Amp is good) from the battery to the push button. Put the yellow wire to the push button. Beware though, you are bypassing the neutral safety switch. It will crank anytime you push the button.

Avital 4103 when i push start button the ignition lights come on but doesn't start the engine

Try leaving the key in the ignition (but don't turn it) and then try. If it starts then you need to properly bypass the transponder system. If not then most likely you don't have your ignition and/or start wires hooked up properly. On many cars there is a second starter wire that needs to be connected

They have a bad ignition problem. Its more than likely the ignition. Turn the key on, Then right below the ignition theres a hole. take a long skinny phillips screw driver and push it up through the hole and you will hit a release for the ignition. Push it up as you pull the ignition out. Then try to start the car with a flat head screwdriver. Write back if that doesn't work but i have a feeling it will.

If nothing, and I do mean nothing on your bike is working (you said "no juice") I'd suspect the main fuse or breaker has tripped. Look under the seat or behind one of the side covers for the fuse panel.

Good Luck

Check your door switch as well, but you may want to start by replaceing the start button. You should hear a small click when the button is pushed down.
