Question about Suzuki Boulevard C90T Motorcycles

1 Answer

I have a 2008 Suzuki C90T. The problem is starting. When it is cold, and sometimes hot, the motorcycle will not start. There is plenty of cranking power, but will not turn over. You have to give it about 1/8 turn on the throttle to get it to turn over. Once it is running, it will run fine. The shop has done a load test; spark plug test, compression, and there are no codes that show when it is hooked in for diagnostics. I run 89 octane gasoline. Any ideas?

Be sure you have a clean air filter and the stock spark plugs for your bike. Installing a fresh set would be a good idea as carbon buildup on the insulator cone can rob some of the spark. Give the throttle a rapid single full twist then hit the start button. Hope this helps.

Hi, i have a 2008 suzuki boulevard C90T. When i turn on ignition i have power to everything except start button. Is it common for the switch to go bad or should i start tracing wires for a bad one? thank...

Is your kill switch off? And sometimes the buttons get dirty and some contact cleaner flushed through them helps get them working again.
NOTE Make sure the contact cleaner is safe on plastics. Radio Shack has it on the shelf.

Went to start my c90t 2008 and the oil light came on. It didn't go off and the bike won't start. Checked the oil level and it's fine. What can be the problem?

The oil switch should work by earthing out, so if you disconnect the wire from the sender, the light should go out, this would mean the sender is bad.

Same problem here ... 2008 C90T ... dealer no help ... in 3rd or 4th, ignition off, force it to roll backwards until you hear the piston shift ... should start then. Told it's the rear piston stopping at or near top dead center, but also told adjust the decompression will "solve" the issue; anyway, a rolling forward-start in 4th will work, too, otherwise try rolling the bike backwards until you hear, and you will know when the piston moves and then it will start.

Hot starter

4 stroke engines require a leaner than normal fuel/air mixture to start when hot. The cold start choke allows more fuel into the mix. The hot start choke allows more air into the mix.
