SOURCE: suzuki gsxr 750 does not start sparks batt ok,

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, perform below tests:

  • remove all the plugs and spray starting fluid (or fuel) on all cylinders. Return the plugs and try again. If it fires even just a few times, then fuel is not entering the combustion chamber;
  • loosen/remove the drain screw at the bottom of the bowls. Check for the presence of fuel (and also determine if there are sediments, rust or foreign matter). If there is no or little fuel, then fuel is not entering the carbs;
  • if your fuel control/valve has provision, turn it to PRI. With the drain plugs still loosened or removed, fuel should flow out of the drain hoses (pls ensure that it is properly channel to a catch/holder and ensure other safe condition/practice).
At this point, you may want to check fuel delivery from the tank down to the carbs.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

the front one that doesnt work , must have a bulb gone or wire off. The reason the rear doesnt blink is it needs the power flowing through both bulbs for the flasher to work. You may need a test light to check for power going to the front

Not sure exactly what you mean .. On older Suzuki's you set the valve clearance with the valve lobe pointing directly up on compression stroke (lobe has just pushed the valve down).

Hope this helps

What is the best carb set for this year gsxr

Pull out the slide then lower the clip on the jet needle one notch. Then try two notches. This will richen the mid range response. Give this a try before trashing the carbs.

Go to the site below and you can download a free service manual PDF. The one you want is 47th from the top of the Suzuki list. Yes, I know that it is for '93 to '95 models. It is the closest I could come to '89 and 90% of the data doesn't change and it is free. For an exact match Google " service manuals suzuki " or go to
Also try your local library. Often guys will donate manuals to the library.
