Just bought a 2006 Crossfire. The area where the (Trip Milage) is, a beep then the Oil Logo with the word HI comes on once a day at least. The Manual says the Oil has too much and the oil pan needs to be...

Yes its mentioned correct in manual. The HI indication comes on when there is about 1 quart too much oil. Get the excess oil drained.----------- CHECKING ENGINE OIL LEVEL:-------- A sensor in the oil pan allows oil level to be checked
without opening the hood. It provides an accurate measurement of oil level, whereas the low engine oil level indicator warns that oil level is definitely too low. With the vehicle parked on a level surface, the engine is warmed up and shut off for approximately five minutes. When the ignition switch is turned to the ON/RUN position, an ISO oil level icon appears in the trip odometer window and a "clock" icon in the cumulative odometer display. Pressing the knob to the left of the speedometer twice within one second displays one of the following messages:
• OK
• -1.0 Q (-1.0L)
• -1.5 Q (-1.5L)
• -2.0 Q (-2.0L)
• HI
The indicated amount of oil must be added to the engine
if the message -2.0 Q (-2.0L) blinks and a signal sounds.
The HI message indicates that the excess oil must be
removed from the pan to avoid possible engine or
catalytic converter damage. If the ISO oil level icon and
"clock" icon remain on when attempting to check oil
level and no message follows, or if the low engine oil
level warning lamp comes on, a malfunction in the
engine oil level system is indicated. A conveniently
located dipstick allows manual checking of the oil level.
If no leaks are noted, continue to drive to the nearest
service station where the engine oil should be topped to
the "full" mark on the dipstick with an approved oil.--------------------

I want to check the engine oil level for previa 2.4 petrol 1995

OIL LEVEL CHECK Every time you stop for fuel, check the engine oil as follows:
  1. Park the vehicle on level ground.
  2. When checking the oil level it is best for the engine to be at operating temperature, although checking the oil immediately after a stopping will lead to a false reading. Wait a few minutes after turning off the engine to allow the oil to drain back into the crankcase.
  3. Open the hood and inspect the level of the engine oil tank. The fluid level on the tank should read between FULL or F and LOW or L.
  4. If the level is below the LOW or L line, remove the cap and add enough engine oil to reach the FULL or F line. Fig. 1: Fill the engine oil tank located under the hood first 90911p07.jpg
  5. Install the oil cap and hand tighten.
  6. After filling the oil tank, remove the engine access hole cover on the drivers side. 7. Remove the engine oil dipstick and wipe it clean.
  8. Reinsert the dipstick, push it in as far as it will go, the pull it out and look at the level on the end.
  9. If necessary, insert more oil through the oil filler cap next to the dipstick, this will completely top off the system. Fig. 5: The oil dipstick has two markings for level check 90911p85.jpg Fig. 6: To fill the crankcase, remove the engine oil filler cap 90911p86.jpg prev.gif next.gif

Where do you check engine oil? Should there be a

hi,
you can check the oil level in your bike by using the "oil sight glass" at the lower part of engine in the left hand side of your bike, just below the left foot peg.there are two marks, the upper mark referring the maximum capacity for oil level and the lower mark showing the minimum level. The oil level can be anywhere between these two marks. Please make sure of two things while you check the oil level in your bike.
  • Run your engine for two min so that the oil is warm while you check the level.Never check the oil level in a cold engine.
  • Hold the bike in upright vertical position while checking the oil level.
I have provided an example picture showing the location of the oil filter in a Yamaha v-star.Hope your problem is solved. Please rate my solution as 8a0e22a.jpghelpful.Have a great day.

  1. Turn the car off and wait several minutes.
  2. Locate the engine oil dipstick and withdraw it from the tube.
  3. Wipe the dipstick with a clean rag and reinsert it in the dipstick tube.
  4. Remove the dipstick again, hold the dipstick horizontally and observe the level of the oil.

Fig. 2: Observe the oil level on the dipstick and add oil if it is low

  1. The oil level should be at the FULL mark on the dipstick.
  2. If the level is at or near the LOW mark, replace the dipstick and add fresh oil to bring the level up to the FULL mark. Do not overfill.
  3. Recheck the oil level and close the hood.
