My dryer was making a loud squeeking noise while drying, now it won't start, I can hear it trying purring but than it does not start, help!

it most likely has parts that are worn out and need replaced. you will need to have it serviced.

Sounds like the tub is unbalanced from either a bearing/pulley suspension problem or the unit has broken something off in between the tub and outer portion of the unit before you get to the walled panels, and you are hearing a rubbing and thumping noise. This is not a typical DIY job since the entire back panel of the unit needs to be pulled off and diagnosed.

While I would suspect the belt also, it could also be the drum bearing since they both could have the same symptoms. Suggest you try to turn the drum by hand and see if you can hear it then.

You will need to check the tub roller wheels. This is a common noise when the wheel bearings start to ware down. They are not expensive, and you should be able to do this yourself. Good Luck Friend.

Try a "little" silicone spray on the belt(s). It could be they have dried out and just need a touch of spray to "loosen" them up.

It sounds like the dryer belt is wore out or broken, you can usually order a replacement belt from the maker of your dryer at there website.

Yes it still squeeks and it still drys and it kinda stops being so loud after the dryer has been drying for some time. Need help on solving this iissue and how to fix it.
