How to jump out clutch interlock - 1995 Ford Ranger Supercab

There is usually a safety interlock requiring the footbrake to be applied before shifting out of park. The interlock won't work without electricity. Recharge the battery or just replace though I guess jump leads would supply enough power for the interlock to work.

Have you checked fuel pressure between tank and intake? pressure check valve on return line could be stuck open. check for spark as well, need more info....

check all fuses,when installing led lights,did he use an inline fuse?,pretty expensive mistake.

What kind of car? Year make model? May be a safety interlock micro switch that is malfunctioning. Starter solenoid or bad starter... Need more information.

I'm just showing two wires on the clutch switch and you would connect the two to bypass the switch.
One is pink and the other is pink and white or red and lt blue.

Your diagram is below. Since the starter jumps at the solenoid, the problem would be the ignition switch, the clutch interlock, or the wiring. Check for power at the yellow wire that goes to the switch under the clutch pedal when the key is turned to start. If you have power on the red wires to the ignition switch but no power coming out when the key is turned to start, replace the switch. If you DO have power on the yellow wire, try bypassing the interlock by pulling the connector off and connecting the terminals inside the connector with a large paperclip. If that doesn't work, the purple wire from the interlock to the starter solenoid may be broken. Please let me know if you have more questions.

I'm assuming you have a no-crank condition. check interlock relay and safety interlock. Safety interlock is on shifter if you have automatic. It's on the clutch pedal arm if you have manual. Interlock relay should be in engine compartment relay box. You can bypass both of these and the ignition switch by jumping the solenoid. Check the clutch interlock switch on the clutch pedal arm. You can jump across this switch to defeat the interlock function as a test to verify the switch is the problem. Also try pushing the clutch all the way to the floorboard when turning the ignition to start. If the switch is good, then check for power at the starter solenoid and relay.

you have civic SI type R with the K20A engine and 6sp transmission? correct?

yes the clutch is adjustable.

1. loosen the clutch pedal position switch(lower of the 2 switches) locknut and back off the clutch pedal position switch.
2. loosen the clutch push-rod locknut and turn the push-rod in or out to get the desired height and stroke of the pedal.
3. tighten the push-rod locknut
4. with the clutch pedal released, turn the clutch pedal position switch in until it contacts the clutch pedal.
5. turn the clutch pedal position switch in an additional 3/4 to 1 turn.
6. tighten the clutch pedal position switch locknut.
7. loosen the clutch interlock switch(the upper switch) locknut and then the interlock switch.
   
8. press the clutch pedal to the floor.
9. release the pedal about 1/2 in. from the fully depressed position, and hold it there. adjust the position of the interlock switch so that the engine will start with the clutch pedal in this position.
10. tighten the interlock switch locknut.

clutch pedal stroke should be: 5.1 - 5.5 in
clutch pedal height should be: 7.76 in

if adjusting the clutch doesn't help with the transmission feeling notchy, may be the syncros.
