Question about 2003 Yamaha YZF-R6

My 2003 yamaha r6 is got to alomost9000 miles. It rides fine so can i just ignore the maintenace? and if i do wanna get it done how much am i looking for? By the way the tires are out too

As long as you keep the oil level up, you really don't have to do any engine maintenence. But eventually it'll cause problems. As for the tires I would deffinetly change those. You can only imagine what would happen if you cranked into it at about 100 mph and either tire blew out.

Motorcycle shuts off while riding


Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Severely discharged or a damaged battery, should have 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
2. Failed alternator/generator and or voltage regulator.
3. Loose or corroded battery terminals and or cables especially the "NEGATIVE" cable, look for loose, corroded, or broken connectors inside the cable harness at "BOTH" ends.
4. Failed main circuit breaker or ignition switch, check for loose connections and continuity.
5. Failed system and or ignition relay, check for continuity.
6. Failed ignition coil, ignition/electronic module.
7. Failed CKP, CPS, CMP, MAP, TPS, or BAS sensor, corroded, loose or broken wire connector pins/sockets.
8. Throttle cables and or idle speed improperly adjusted hot idle speed should be 950 RPM to 1000 RPM.
9. Air/fuel mixture screw improperly adjusted.
10. Accelerator pump damaged or not working.
11. Water or dirt in the fuel system, carburetor or filter.
12. Restricted, blocked or kinked fuel line.
13. Fuel tank empty.
14. The gas cap is not venting properly or fuel tank venting system blocked.
15. A failed fuel pump, pressure regulator and or fuel injectors.
16. Vacuum line from intake manifold to petcock broken, cracked, or not attached, carburetor vent line plugged.
17. Needle and seat stuck closed in the float bowl.

On average, how many miles can I expect to get once the fuel light appears on my '02 yzf r-6


Once the fuel light comes on, i guess you have about 35 miles if you really ride slow. I suggest you start looking for a gas station as soon as the light comes on.

2005 yamaha r6 want start. New plugs,replaced all


go to Autozone but can of Sea foam $10 pour in 1/3 can to 2 gal fuel.. clean fuel filter or just buy a new one, your choice, empty out fuel filter and fill it up with some see foam and if you have trouble getting it started..well push start the damn thing, and if it starts and is running like ****... just do whatever it takes to keep it running and ride an ride hard at times if you have to and see if this stuff will clean out you fuel injector carbs or whatever..it worked with my bike afyer 11 miles. feedback appreciated!

Symptoms of coil problems


try some seafoam from Autozone 1/3 can to two gallon gas...ride it for about 10 miles see if it"ll clear up. also drain out fuel filter and fill it with seafoam before you ride it. can i get some feed back thanks.

My Yamaha R6 2003 is over heating


First change the Coolant temp. sensor. Its the easiest thing you can do FIRST. Thanks....That what i will do but I have another issue. The coolant starts over flowing from the reservoir when the temp reacher about 212F. I made a manual switch for the fan so i can turn it on myself when it hits 200F. Otherwise everything is just fine,

2001 yamaha r6 keeps going dead! Stator,regulator or something?


you need to check for a short if its not that then it could be your altinator or a regulator box
