Question about 2007 Yamaha YZF-R1

2 Answers

Hi, I own a 2005 R1 for a year now and about 2 or 3 months ago I felt that the battery maybe low, I tried to cherge it but it didn't help much. I bought a new battery today and after installing it the bike still won't start, I bought a 12V 8AH battery, brand new! I jump started the bike a rode with it for a few minutes then turned it off and tried to start it again, no luck... Can you please tell me what could be the problem? Does the new battery is bad? does it has anything to do with a bad solenoid or something? Thanks a lot !!

    Thanks for your answer!
Well, at the end the problem was a bad Starter Motor....Both batteries are fine :) and the reason the bike didn't start was because the Starter Motor was stuck, after I've opened it, cleaned everything and reinstalled it the bike start like new.
    Thanks again !!

Possible causes: 1) low batteries, replace with new ones 2) bad switches - clean and retry 3) bad gears in the rewind (common problem on early model F4s. As Nikon quit selling parts over a year ago, if Nikon does not repair these any more, try one of their ASC repair stations as they may still have parts
