Question about 1987 Honda VT 1100 C Shadow
Removing the cover to replace the gasket will not harm any of the electrics. I would try just tightening the case screws to see if that will take care of the problem. Worst case is you get a new gasket. Use an impact driver to remove and/or tighten the screws. The web site below looks like the gasket is in stock. Now would be a good time to replace the shift shaft seal. That could be the oil leak anyway. Please rate my answer. Thanks.
