Question about 2005 Hyosung GT 250

1 Answer

Hi I have a problem with my Hyosung GT250R. What happens is after about 7-8km of continued riding the bike stalls and runs out of fuel. After trying to restart the bike for about 5-10 mins it chokes and splutters back to life. this happens all the time. I have had it checked and all the fuel lines are clear, have also had the tank drained. Can anyone help me? no motor mechanic seems to know

Hi, if the the bike is idling at a normal rpm but keeps on stalling you probably will need to service your carbs or at least clean the pilot jet as this is probably blocked/dirty.Bike carbs are simple and once the float bowl is removed you can get the pilot jet(smallest jet) out with a small bladed screw driver and clear it.

Hi, David my gut tells me it's a sensor issue (TPS or MAP) for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. 3. Float valve and/or valve seat is worn or damaged.
4. Float misadjusted.
5. Float cracked, leaky or damaged.

Hyosung GT250R 2006 Miss Firing In One Cylinder

If everything that you checked truly is 'running perfectly' than you wouldn't be having these issues. Compression doesn't change - either it is good or it isn't. ignition either works or it doesn't most of the time - with the exception of it running til it gets hot then quits until it cools off. so that leave us with carbs. Obviously one of them isn't delivering fuel consistently or evenly or maybe your not giving them fuel all the time(water in the gas?). If you separated the carbs they are more than likely not 'sync'd anymore. That means that one is opening faster or later than the other so one cylinder is getting to do more work. Your best bet is to take it in and have it serviced so that the carbs can be checked over and re tuned so they are opening correctly.

Hi, Ron and the usual suspects are:
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Discharged battery, needs to be 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a "LOAD" test if necessary.
4. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
5. Tip over sensor needs a reset.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Faulty kickstand or clutch pull in switch/sensor.
9. Starter control circuit, relay, or solenoid faulty.
10. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty.

Hyosung GT250R Tacho not working

These bikes are never senen with many miles on them when for sale, invariably they have issues uncommon to a newer bike, this sis due to the workmanship and metalurgical issues etc, they are clones but thats where the similaritys end, they nevr last from all I ever saw of these bikes.
If you mean loses power on hills due to clutch slippage, the springs i know get weak fast and lose tension sufficient to engage fully thus allowing plates to slip and losing power to the rear wheel, if you mean otherwise nobody can tell you this way correctly.

Hi i have a gt250r 2006 and ill be riding down the road doing about 90 and the bike will suddenly lose all power like it has run out of fuel then when i pull off the road it takes about 5-10 min to get it...

Your problem sounds like fuel starvation for sure, You will probably find your float or float inlet needle and seat valve is sticking or the float level is set too the carburator bowl. another possibility is the filter sive in the fuel on off valve is blocked, start your check there, it is an easy fix, look at the on off valve and remove the bowl on the bottom. look inside and remove the sive filter, should only take 5 nimutes to fix. make sure the fuel runs out and not just drips when the valve is open. The carbs are a little more complicated.
