It could be the lifters. If the knocking goes away shortly after you start the engine. It also could be a rod bearing getting very worn. If the sound is a knocking sound then it is more than likely a rod bearing. If it is ticking sound then it is probably the lifters.

This bike is a two stroke, three cylinder bike. V3 two flat cylinders, one upright cylinder.

What do you mean by lifters? It aint got no valves.

What kind of bike is it? I don't know of any honda 3 cylinder two stroke. You have to mix gas and oil? If it is indeed a two stroke then the only explanation is that your main or rod bearings are going out.

I have a 2004 gsxr1000, have not been riding much this year. put 87 octane fuel usally use 91 octane road on highway and started to here this knocking sound so babied it home and emptyed tank. Have not had any work on engine yet. ("o", oil light started flashing on/off a about twice when I got it home). no oil leaks noticed. Do i take straight to shop or try 91 octane? (oil is at level in sight glass).

When I first start my van it knocks. and in a few minutes it quits and the oil pressure gage will jump back and forth.

would you consider it a knock or a tick, does it have the 3.8L engine or what? Does it sound like it is coming from all over the engine or just in one place? How many miles on the van?

What can cause knock sensor to get bad on 2007 ford edge

Well the knock sensor does not make any noise. It senses the vibration in the engine if there is a spark knock to let the computer know to slow down the spark timing.
You probably have a weak piston or lifter or rod bearing making the noise.

How do I fix a solenoid in the dash board that starts knocking when the ignition is turned off.

I'm guessing that it is a relay not a solenoid. The first step is to locate the one making the noise. Your user manual should show you the location of the relays. Often many of them are located along with the fuse panel and others are located in the engine compartment usually under cover. Put you finger in each relay to try to find the one making the noise. If you think you have found the right one pull it out to see if the noise stops. If you can identify the correct one the next step is to determine if it is the relay or the circuit driving the relay causing the problem.
If you are in the USA most public libraries have auto repair manuals that have circut diagrams.
Good Luck

When I start my car I hear a fast knocking noise from the engine. my oil is fine. as the car warms up the knocking diminishes.

You have either worn out connecting rod bearings or a weak oil pump it is possible the oil pump pick up screen is clogged.

Where is the knock sensor and how do you replace

The knock sensor is most likely ok you need to do a top engine clean to get the combustion chamber presure down so the knock sensor can ****** the timing enough to not knock or ping, You may not here the ping but the knock sensor does. Go to a GM dealer and buy a can of top engine cleaner warm the engine up and pull vacuum line off the back of the throttle body and allow it to **** the full bottle into the engine then kill the engine. let sit for 20 minutes hook up vacuum hose start the engine and rev it up to where it will still run let it run for 10 minutes till smoke clears out then take it for a test drive after you drive it 10 or 15 miles you should notice the check engine light not cumming on and the engine ill run smoother and the fuel millage will go back up, afterwords change the motor oil and filter to get rid of all the carbon down in the oil pan. If this does not fix it then change the knock sensor, it has 4 wires running to it and is on the side of the block left side. If you replace it be sure not to tighten it to tight if fact use a tork wrench to tighten it or you will break the ceramic disc inside the sensor.
