Question about 2005 Honda CRF 150 F

1 Answer

Is there a factory setting on the fuel/air screw to start out with? I've been trying to adjust my carb and it's probably way out of wack now. Honda CRF 150f - Thanks

this does is not related to the idle adjustment. It sounds strange that there is no fuel filter, there should be. the screen is for only stopping any large debri from going to the carbs. follow the fuel line from the tank valve and I will bet you will find a fuel filter. i also would suggest draining the fuel bowls on the carbs and catch the fuel. check for any debri in this gas. You may try running some seafoam carb cleaner thru the carbs. After changing filter and bowl draining does not work you may have to remove the carbs to clean them and make sure all is operating correctly ( slides). be sure that your air filter is also clean.

Air fuel mixture adjustment 04 honda 125 innova anf

the jetting should not be a problem, perhaps the air cleaner element is dirty or the element even if it looks ok sometimes needs a new one, the smaller motors often rely on the right intake vacumn through the filter for the carbs to work as designed

Need to adjust my honda shadow 500 vt carburator's fuel/air mixture

start by synchronizing your throttle plates. Honda calls the next step the "idle drop procedure". u need to know if you have fuel adj. screws or air adj. screws. fuel screws will be on engine side of carb slide, air screws will be on airbox side of carb slide. start leaning out mixture, (turn in fuel screw, turn out air screw. idle will increase so keep adjusting idle back to spec.after each turn if needed. Adjust about 1/4 to 1/2 turn at a time on each carb until there is no change in idle, then richen up mixture by one half turn. If u sync throttle plates first then follow this procedure, there should be no hesitation when you "blip" the throttle, and after revving it should return to idle smooth,

Chances are the air filter is extremely wet. Air can't get through a wet filter, and if no air can flow through the carb, no gas can flow through either. Remove the filter and try again to get the engine started. I assume you drained and cleaned the gas tank already. If still no joy, remove the carb and clean it using spray carb cleaner. Remove the air screw and throttle screw and spray into the screw holes as well as all the little drill holes in the carb body. The object here is to clean out the pilot jet and idle circuit. When re-assembling the carb, put the air and throttle screws back in and turn them inward until they LIGHTLY seat. Now open each of them up one and one half turns. This is the factory setting. Turn the air screw and throttle screw all the way inward until they LIGHTLY seat. Now open each of them one and one half turns. That is the factory setting. Chances are the carbs are gummed up with varnish from evaporated gas. Disassemble the carbs and soak them in denatured alcohol for 30 minutes. Now clean them with spray carb cleaner from the auto parts store. You need to be sure all the jets and fuel circuits are clear. You may need a service manual sometime. Here is a website that looks like it may have a free download. Even if they want $20 or so, a service manual is handy to have around. http://www.mediafire.com/?jnyzijmfydw

2007 ttr 125 wont start unless hand is over the back of carb. also wont idle.At mid and high range it runs fine. There are no air leaks and no adjustment screw for the air/idle just a factory plug.

Time for carb cleaning, blow the jets with compressed air and check the fuel level in the float chamber, adjust if necessary.
Tht factory plug is where the air-mixture screw is and tht plug has been kept there for non tampering!
That screw is factory set.
Basically its the primary jet which is a problem in your bike's carb, but all in all might as well blow both of them.
Hope this helps!

The nob on the back is the idel set., the float adjustments are the 2 recessed areas on diverside on top of carb.. Be aware by turning to try to set float can cause problems. If you do turn be sure to count number of turns for each so you can reset to original settings if carb starts to flood or starve. What are you trying to acheive?
