Question about 2000 Harley Davidson FXDWG Dyna Wide Glide

The fuel pump on my 2000 FXDWG has a 3 position dial. From at 9 o'clock it says "off", at 12 o'clock it says "Res", and at 6 o'clock it says "on". Common sense would say to put it to off if you are not going to ride it for a while, but the dial does not roll all the way to the off position.. what to do.

That dial is not you fuel pump. It is your fuel valve. On means that you are allowing fuel to go to the engine, off means that you are shutting all fuel to the engine, and res is short for reserve. Reserve is only used when your engine dies or starts to sputter while engine is running. If you keep enough gas in you tank you should never have to use res.

2003 Harley dyna doesn't idle when throttle off

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY FUEL VALVE IS IN THE ON POSITION?


Mark on the knob at 12 o'clock is ON, 6 o'clock is reserve, 3 or 9 o'clock is off.

There are two fuse boxes. A baqttery junction box under the hood on the drivers side and one inside on drivers side. Good luck.

there are only two ways to install the thermostat. there are no clock positions . You can only install it right side up or upside down. What is important is that the spring side faces the engine . In other words this spring side goes in first, you shouldn't see the spring after you installed it, before installing the housing that hooks into the upper radiator hose.

How to change the fuel pump on a 2000 ford expedition


Removal & Installation

Removal:

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Relieve the fuel pressure.
3. Raise and support the vehicle.
4. Remove the fuel tank; refer to the procedure outline in this section.
5. Remove the fuel pump retaining bolts.
6. Remove the fuel pump.

To Install:
7. Thoroughly clean the fuel pump-mounting flange.
8. Install a new gasket and place the pump into the tank.
9. Ensure that the fuel tubes face toward the fuel rail and tighten the retaining bolts to 80-107 inch lbs. (9-12 Nm).
10. Install the tank as outlined in this section.
11. Tighten the fuel tank bolts to 66-91 inch lbs. (7.6-10.4 Nm).
12. Tighten the fuel tank straps bolts to 22-30 ft. lbs. (29.7-40.7 Nm).
13. Tighten the skid plate bolts to 9.3-12.7 ft. lbs. (12.7-17.3 Nm).
14. Connect the negative battery.

Top dial is Bake/Broil knob, it goes left to right. Starts with OFF @ 9 0-clock next is 100 dgre then @12 o-clock 180 Deg. is at top center next is 250 Deg. next 350 located opposite of off. Next @ 4 o-clock is 400 Deg. Next @ 5 o-clock is 450 Deg. and finally at the bottom at the 6 o-clock position is BROIL. The Center Knob is BAKE TIMER . Starts @ off position as 0, next @ 10 o-clock is 10-mins. Next @ 12 o-clock position is 20 mins. Next @ 2 o-clock pos. is 30 mins. Next @ 3 o-clock pos. is 40 mins. Next @ 5 o-clock pos. is 50 mins. Next and finial pos. is 60 mins. The Bottom knob is TOAST @ the 9 o-clock is is 0 next @ 11 o-clock pos. is Light , Next between the 12 & 1 o-clock pos. is MEDIUM and the final pos. @ 3 o-clock is DARK. TOAST.

Setting the darn thing


If you don't have the instruction manual you can go to this link and on the right side of the page you can type in the model number. (it will tell you where to locate the model number) I tried this for a Bulova from 1998 and it worked but I don't know how far it will go back but it's worth a try.
