My cd's wont play and my ipod but radio works on my jvc kdr 520

Are you talking about just the audio coming from cd's and ipod? If so, are you using an amplifier? If you are using an external amplifier, you may be using the blue wire (power antenna remoter turn on) instead of the blue/white wire ( amp remote turn on) to turn the amp on. The blue wire turns off when leaving tuner mode, thus turning off the amplifier.

Have a 1996 Toyota Camery. Installed a KDG140 JVC stereo/CD player but the stereo won't work. CD player works great.

If "stereo won't work" refers to you not being able to get radio stations; try your antenna connection behind the radio. The vehicle may also have a power antenna connection(blue wire at the stereo).

Hi, I have installed my JVC radio and when it is on FM radio, there is sound through the speakers, but when I play a cd there is no sound.

are you using an amplifier? if so, it sounds like you are using the blue wire (power antenna remote) instead of the blue/white wire (amplifier remote turn on) to turn the amp on. when leaving tuner mode the power antenna wire is turned off.

Is a remote wire and memory wire the same

no, they are not the same. the memory wire is to maintain the memory of preset stations and the clock. the remote wire is to turn an amp or power antenna on. on some radios there are two remote wires. one for power antenna and one for amplifier. power antenna is usually blue, and amplifier is usually blue/white.

My am radio doesnt work , but my fm does and my sirius does, whats wrong

Hi,

May be your car has an in-glass radio antenna. Because these don't perform as well as mast antennas, there's an antenna amplifier built into the vehicle.

When installing a new head unit, it's necessary to connect the "power antenna" wire in the radio harness. This activates the antenna amplifier. If you leave this disconnected, the result is the problem you're describing.

Since the vehicle doesn't have an actual motorized antenna, many installers overlook the power antenna connection in the harness. Also, after-market adapter harnesses use a blue wire for this function, and your Radio head unit has only a blue/white output.

The answer, then, is to check the back of the radio, and make sure the blue/white wire from the Radio deck is connected to the blue wire in the adapter harness.

No AM reception for car radio...do get FM reception.

I was having the same problem with a jvc kd hdr 30. I Installed it myself over a year ago and never wanted to deal with the issue. Finally, I decided to take a look at it today.
On my head unit, all wires were connected except one blue one with a tag that says "do not connect to power, for remote device or power antenna only." This unit is in a '97' MBZ E320 with no visible antenna; I think it is part of the windshield. In any case, between the wiring diagram in the manual and the harness that is part of my car, I was left with 2 blue wires to choose from, one with a white stripe and one with a gray stripe. After testing both for power or ground, I determined neither had power with key on or off. Both had high resistance ground when compared to the chassis ground. In other words, I measured between chassis and these wires. First, I took a wire and connected it to the chassis ground and connected the other end to the blue wire coming from the unit while tuned to a local am station. This simply killed all reception am or fm but did not harm the unit. Next, I connected the blue wire with gray stripe of the car harness to the blue wire of the unit and again this killed all reception. Then I connected the blue wire with white stripe of car harness to the blue wire of unit and presto magic I had great am reception.
I am guessing that this blue wire with white stripe must be part of the antenna itself or perhaps is a connection that increases antenna power. Maybe 'power antenna' on tag refers to an actual powered antenna (like as in amplified?) and not as in an antenna that rises up out of fender, as I believed.
This may not help the first person with the question, but maybe it will help someone out there who searches for these kinds of answers like I do from time to time.

The UV8 needs to use The Pink wiere to play an CD audio?

I got through to tech support. For problem of no audio from DVD or CD (can only hear radio), reverse the Blue wire (power antenna) and the Blue/White wire (external power amplifier). This should solve the problem.

Power Amp not working When A CD is playing

Hi Cassiel,

You have it wired wrong. The Power Antenna wire is for antenna only. When you go to something other than Radio, the antanna wire signal to turn retract the antennaor turn off your amp. you need to use the Blue wire coming out of your CD player. The intended function of the Blue is remote turn on when every the radio is turned on. This will keep you amp on as long as your Radio is turned on. Change the wires behind the radio from the Power antenna to Blue Remote wire.
