If you're hearing this noise just after you've shut the bike off from riding or moved the machine, loosen your gas cap and see if it goes away. If it does, it's your tank vent in the gas cap venting pressure that has built up in your tank.

good luck

sounds like air getting in on suction side, try putting in more fuel in tank.or you have a leak on the pressure side before the top of the tank

After traveling, there was high air pressure in the fuel tank? is it normal?

Are you sure is was high air pressure and not vacuum? Most modern automobiles have fuel tank purge systems which will place the fuel tank under low pressure (or vacuum). If you remove the fuel cap immediately after travelling a long distance or while the engine is still running, it could be normal to hear a "hissing" sound when removing the cap as the pressure in the tank will equalize when the cap is removed.

2007 fxd dyna superglide started running rough after the engine light turned on. makes a loud hissing noise near the fuel tank

The this once. turn the bike to the "on" position. Dont start the bike, just turn ity so you can hear the fuel pump engage. After the pump stops, listen really close to the inside of the you hear anything, like some gas still sprinkling out inside the tank? hopefully, you are at about a half tank or less. You wont hear it with a full tank. need to know where this hissing is from, under or in the tank. you arent going crazy.........yet. :o) I'll keep an eye out for your response.

Your engine vents through the heads. This vented air is directed into the air cleaner as required by the EPA. This may be the noise you are hearing.

How can you tell if the fuel pump on a 2004 Harley Davidson FLSTCI is going bad

The hissing noise is NOT the fuel pump. It is a fuel leak internally in the fuel tank between the fuel pump and the quick release connector on the fuel tank. Harley fuel pumps very rarely fail. I have only seen one in ten years but have seen a lot of failed pressure pipes. These fail due to the fuel pipe rubbing against the inside of the fuel tank and wearing away. It must be replaced by the original fuel pipe ( it is a bellows construction that aids in starting the bike by holding fuel pressure ).

This truck has one tank but a selector switch for front and rear tank is the fuel pump inside the tank . There is something mounted to the rail right before the tank. I'm guessing this is the switch for...

Looks like the fuel/float pump is indeed inside the tank. There should only be one pump. Generally, you can get under the truck near the tank, and have someone turn the key to "on" (not start the truck, just turn it on), and you should hear a "whirrrrrrrrrrrrrr" noise inside the tank if the fuel pump is in there. Of course, if the fuel pump has died, it won't make any noise, so that's not always a good way to tell.

If you hear a hissing sound from the gas cap then the o ring that seals the tank is either cracked or tore. the tank has to build up pressure. thats where u r hearing the hissing sound replace it, it should stop after.

Where is fuel pump on 1996 960 Volvo?

The fuel pump of 960 is inside the tank attached together with the floater. There is a screen filter attached to the floater which need to be cleaned/changed from time to time. The outside filter is situated under the carriage. To know when the pump about to give problem, there will be a grinding/hissing sound.
