Make sure your oil level is correct...meaning follow owners manual which is free on the the yamaha wesite

Once engine has started smoke coming out


Smoke coming from exhaust is sign of a few things wrong. Either the petrol -air mix is not correct and rich fuel mix is going in. Worse oil seal leak. This means engine oil from sump is finding its way into engine cylinders and igniting with petrol. A sign that engine could be damaged soon. This needs to be addressed quickly - piston rings may be loose also.

Without knowing vehicle make or model it is hard to suggest anything further.

.500km after service the oil is dirty, almost black. What does this mean? any problem with my car. Please assist.


If it is a diesel then dark engine oil is normal as it is carrying the carbon from combustion in suspension. If it is a petrol engine the black oil is an indication of compression fire getting into sump and burning the oil That may relate to rings , or bore problem. Check the oil that you used as it should be 20w-50 at least for either diesel or petrol. Have a compression test done on either engine to determine engine condition.

The symptoms you describe are more likely to be caused by an electrical problem than a problem with the oil pressure. if you have a leak from the sump you should check to see if you have lost any oil. It may just be a weep from a loose bolt or it could be pouring out- you don't say how much is leaking.

My gz125 oil window is black so cant so how full the oils level is . when i ride the bike the problem is the same when it is hot and on level ground

My rmz250 oil smells like gas


Is quite normal for some petrol to pass the piston rings into the oil sump - this is actually the number one reason you need to change oil regularly on motocross bikes. People think it is just the age of oil or the colour of oil which tell them time to change oil? But in fact, it is the percentage of petrol in the oil increases every time you ride it, and as you would imagine the more petrol in the oil the less lubrication you have which leads to higher operating temps which in short is disaster waiting to happen !
If you know your oil is very new and it still stinks of fuel after very little use then my guess would be it is time to replace piston and rings - but if you know oil is old (over 4-5 hours of riding useage) then the smell is telling you should have changed oil about a hour of riding ago?

Gas is spitting out the exhaust when I try to start the mower. If it does come on it doesn't stay on long.Can anyone help me solve my problem ?????


sounds like the engine has wet sumped and is extremly full of diluted oil / petrol

does your oil smell like petrol and is very thin if wet sump indicated

remove tank and carb , clean tank, clean carby and replace fuel needle and seat - check float for hole reset fuel level and reassemble , adjust governor , drain and refill engine oil and replace air filter and plug, , check valve clearance and reset iff need

might pay to fit in line fuel tap too

Mower blowing white then black smoke & running rough


if unit is ohv engine - i gather unit is using oil ?

may have a blown head gasket and air filter may be oil / petrol soaked
restrcting air flow

check oil level is correct ( and does not smell of petrol ) wet sumped and breather is working ( not stuck closed )

check for tight valve clearance

if all these are ok then might suspect worn rings / bore ?


may need further info on engine model - type

let me know and i will try help more if can

Where is the oil plug located?


on bottom of sump it is a bolt should be on its own underneath engine hint get more life out your oil filter clean it with petrol and leave to dry

Hi My motorcycle Hero Honda Dawn had problem at the time of starting a journey. The bike showing some Power missing alternatively . But it will solve after 10 minutes of ride, What is the problem Is it...


possible weak battery? its better after a run... when it's charged a bit off the alternator. it's possibly not holding the charge overnight and being a bit sluggish in the morning... have it checked - a half charged battery makes a half charged coil... zap? . which will spark but not quite so good as a fully charged coil ZAP!
also check the plug for oil fouling and check if the oil level is too high - if so drain the oil down to the Full mark - this can happen after a lot of failed starting attempts as unburned petrol gets past the cylinder into the sump, filling it up... If THIS has happened you need to change the oil and filter, oil full of petrol does not lubricate the engine!!! - I think its 10W30 for your bike, it takes about 2 pints.
Sounds like its almost definitely electrical tho...

Delay in automatic transmission (at times)


2 THINGS TO TRY
1 Drain auto trans oil from g/box sump, remove g/b/sump pan and remove the filter as you might find the filter is faulty/dirty/or just no good and then either replace it or wash out in petrol and refit /refill test run.
2 Check the forward bands and pump on forward drive if bands are burnt or worn then the oil and filter will be dark red or brown and that means trouble.
