I have 99 aero 1100c3 When riding there is a veberation when under a load. Notice especially at lower rpm. If I inguage clutch it goes away. After purchase of bike took to dealer to change all fluids and check out. The other day I checked fluid in rear. No oil. I put in about a pint of gear lube. After this I had a oil leak which I never had before. I guess they did not put oil in it. Is there bearing or could I have messed up the gears? Please help I really like my bike and do not want to trade or sell in this condition. Thanks David [email protected]

David, if you ran for a long time with no oil you could have messed up your ring and pinion gear. the leak is most likely because of a ruined bearing, and if you get lucky maybe that is all. the vibraition could be just the misalignment of the gears caused by the bad bearings.

Once I forgot to put hypoid gear oil into my final drive and drove 30 miles to work before I realized the fill cap was not on. I filled it and capped it and it worked fine for years. That system only used about half a cup of hypoid. You may have put in too much oil and the excess is coming out the vent. You may have only popped the seal. If you damaged the rear end, it wont last long and , unfortunately, you may have to replace the assembly. Again I think it may just be overfilled. As for the vibration The quality of the dealer tells me that during the 600 mile check up they probably did not adjust your steering head bearings. if the steering head bearings are loose they can cause an assortment of hard to diagnose problems. Dig down under to the upper triple clamp and tighten the bearing a good snugging should be all it needs. You should be able to use the shock tool in the tool kit to turn the nut.

Mazda 2 has 105k miles. Why do I notice less acceleration and more RPM change?

If you accelerate especially when using high gears such as the 4th and 5th gear and the RPM is able to increase freely with the speed struggling to catch up with the RPM, it means your clutch is worn out and is slipping.

You need to get the clutch replaced in order for this issue to be rectified, especially if your clutch have not been changed before.

Why would a air filter compartment fill up with oily gas on a Honda shadow aero 1100c3

depends on how much you are talking about. A little is normal. Check your oil level. Remember to check oil with bike straight up and oil gauge resting on fill tube not screwed in.

1999 Honda Aero 1100c3. sat for two years with fuel in tank, carbs, etc. drained tank and carbs and cleaned, then reassembled. Bike will fire and instantly stall. Did have it running a month ago, but

remove carbs and rebuild completely, old fuel builds shellac in needle valves and other ports. clean float valves thoroughly, and check choke for proper operation

Recently there is a lot of scratchy noise coming from an engine of my 2003 V-max when I rev it above 3000 rpm. It goes away when the clutch is pulled. Everything is functioning just fine, except that noise...

If noise goes away when clutch is pulled then it is a loose clutch basket, you need to replace clutch basket and clutch,They make complete replacment kits. Its not a big deal but I would stop riding it till you replace worn parts.Running it the way it is will result in a blown clutch and could do more damage. If you have some mechanical ability you can change this yourself.Good Luck Brian.....

1999 HONDA 1100C3. RUNS ROUGH AND QUITS WHEN I REMOVE CHOKE.

I think you are exactly right. Sounds like you have some clogging in your idle jets and probably in need of a carb tune up. if you havnt replaced or cleaned your air filter in a while, now would be a good time to do that as well, being that some filters begin to break down and pieces of them get into the carb ports and cause clogging.

Engine cuts out with clutch engaged.

idle adjust?
there SHOULD be an adjuster under the seat or gastank within easy reach. Clockwise to increase rpm, ccl to decrease rpm. idle around 1400rpm when engine is at normal operating temp. Good luck!

Trans noise growling metal...3rd,4th and 5th low speed

I'm not sure, but that sounds like the throw-out barings. If thats the case and they went before the clutch did, then their could be some big problems up ahead.
